Zambia's borders are open to intentional travelers with approved Visa. We are told Visas can be obtained by your PH after approval from the Ministry of Health.
**
All travelers must provide a negative COVID test on arrival, conducted within the previous 14 days. Travelers must also conduct a 14 day self quarantine. Enhanced screening should be expected at all points throughout travel.
**
Be aware airlines may have different (and more strict) guidelines regarding COVID tests prior to travel!

Now let's hope that this starts happening for the other countries like Namibia and Zimbabwe soon! Still think RSA won't be opening until 2021 unfortunately...

Just had some friends fly internationally out of the US. They found out a few days before the flight they had to have Covid test prior to arriving in country, I think it was Barbados. No problem. They went and got rapid test, all were negative. Day before flight, find out country will not accept rapid test results. Fortunately, they are in a small community where the wife knew some folks at the hospital. As a huge favor to them, they raced down that evening, and were able get accepted test results back at 9AM for 11:30AM flight.

All this to say, even when you think you have all the bases covered, you need to be 100% sure you are meeting ALL the requirements and expectations. Still a very transitional landscape.

@TRAVEL EXPRESS , or anybody else:

Do you know if American can get to Zambia( Or TZ or Namibia) transiting through Europe currently? As far as I know except for England, US residents are not allowed anywhere in the EU. Maybe the transiting through airports versus trying to visit makes a difference?

I have been looking at flights, that offer that @spike.t made is just too good to pass up. However, the Ethiopian fare is just too expensive. If JNB opens up for at least transit and SAA will operate to Lusaka, it might be doable in early Nov.

@wesheltonj ,

I too have been pricing some options and found this:

Late Sept/Early Oct
IAD-Lusaka - Economy for $1300

For me if I add in my closest airport where I need to leave from to get to IAD, the price skyrockets. So I would just get myself to IAD on a separate flight like American or United for a couple hundred bucks. If you are willing to fly coach, worth a look

@cpr0312 - I'm not 100% certain on this but I don't believe transit is allowed through most of the EU countries. It looks like transit via London is allowed though. Dubai, Qatar & Addis Ababa are OK for transit. Hope this helps.

Thank you Lori!

I called Lufthansa and they confirmed that for now, US citizens CAN'T transfer through Germany (8/13/20).

Thanks for the other route options, based on what I have found out, that will indeed get you to Zambia or TZ right now.

I have a like new VC .450 I might part with. I had it built in 2013 and it has served me well. Also have a VC fitted leather trunk case for it along with the plastic case it came with. I'll take 14000 for all of it.

Hi Jody,
I have been looking for ideas on the best way to display my European mounts from Africa. I came across some of your shield work and was wondering if you would be willing to make one for me? If so, please let me know the cost. I like the shield with the two spears that you built for a member years ago. Thanks.
