I just dumped some serious bucks into a new rifle! Probably have it early next week as it ships tomorrow. What is it you ask? Well all this talk of new Rigby's and Mausers and such started to melt my noodle so having admired from afar for some time a particular rifle I bought it from a big dealer in Florida.

On its way is a NIB M98 Mauser Expert in 7x57, looks just like the Rigby HS with some cosmetic differences, but both rifles are Mauser built. Rifle has several neat features, the one coming has very nice wood and is just gorgeous.
Going to be a long few days wait for this one. Most I have ever spent on a rifle before is about 2K for a C. Sharps .45-70. This Mauser as most know is about three and a half times that amount, but WTH, its 2020 right?

Already sold one rifle, and have an old 03A3 listed on a mil rifle site, plan to list some others either here or on GB. I recently purchased a very nice Ruger No.1 in 9.3x74 that is going on the block so if anyone is interested shoot me a PM. There will be others as well.

I hope your positive results put a spin on the rest of the year for everyone.
Congratulations on your new acquisition.

Congratulations Ses...looking forward to seeing the pics. I also am so tempted sometimes to buy a Rigby HS or a 98 Mauser, even used. But so far have held onto my money!

Had also considered this one in 9.3 but want a rifle I will shoot lots with less recoil and I have no real use for a mid range blaster.
This one is real nice and I talked with the seller, sounded like a straight shooter. It was tempting.

The 7x57 (275 Rigby) is very much underrated as a round. You will have bags of fun shooting and hunting with it that I'm sure of. Congratulations

Congrats on the new addition!

Lovely rifle and one of the perfect choices for North American game. You also acquired it for a very reasonable price. (y) Congratulations!

Have owned a great many rifles in this caliber but this will be the ne plus ultra of them all!

@sestoppelman, Congrats on the new rifle. Eagerly awaiting pics.

Can't wait to see the pics and range reports.

Very Nice! Now pick up a good DG double to go with it and you will be all set :A Big Hello:

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
