Took the family on an overnight trip to Calisto Canyon outside of Seward Ak yesterday. Good Times. Winter hiking is the best! We rented the forest service cabin for the night and had a blast. 12 mile hike round trip and part of the trail along the beach and is only passable at low tide. We left the house yesterday about an 1 1/2 hour later than I would have liked and by the time we got to the beach the tide was coming back up and we just barley made it around the point. So of course I was in trouble with the wife because we cut it so close (of course it wasn't my fault we were late ) but today on the trip back there was no messing around and we made it with plenty of time and even had to wait for the water to go out for about 20min. Super good family time. Wine by the bottle And I am still the family cribbage king

Yes we can get 15 ft tide changes, but 6-9 feet are more the average.
