Solid color or camo? Traditional or modern stylings?

I think most camo is a useless expense. If one keeps the wind right and is silent and still, that 's about all one needs. Hell, I hunt turkey in jeans. I've been of several safaris and never have worn any camo patterns there. Just light brown or green with a safari jacket in the cool mornings. I can't find much (if any) cold weather hunting gear in solid colors for my fall hunts here in Alaska so I do have some wool and synthetic with camo patterns. They are ugly and I'm embarrassed to wear them, but the choices are very limited. However, in the warm of this June I will hunt grizzly with my .500 Watson double and wear jeans and a t-shirt (with a liberal dose of bug dope sprayed on).
Cheers, gents.

For me the double use of the clothes is very important for weight saving. Thus I wear solid colours with some camo accessories which are not needed for daily street use. Keep in mind that in some states (i.e. Namibia) it is forbidden to wear camo in the public when not at hunt.

Just my 2 cents.

Where what you feel like! I wear solids out of country mostly, camo at home. I would just stay away from a half shirt and ass-less chaps due to the black thorn! Lol.
Assess Chaps??? Now you tell me

Cammo will not help. On a normal approach, there will likely be two or three of you, and as many as four. It is movement and wind which matter. Darker tans and olive drab are hard to beat and will never raise an eyebrow. A belted safari jacket and obviously new zebra band slouch hat will likely brand you a noob. That said, my hunting shirts are all traditional British khaki and olive with epaulets. However, they do look like they have been out and about.

I only have camo jocks....prefer solid colours.

Boyt Harness Vests and Jackets for me. They work great, are durable and very comfortable.

Having said that, I too find myself going away from camo more and more. The reality is that the game will more likely smell you or hear you first.

I have lots of camo, so I picked the right layers for the expected temperatures in South Africa and didn't really worry too much about it. That included as much as 4 layers on the 30F mornings down to a single moisture-wicking longsleeve shirt stalking in the 60F+ afternoon temps.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
