One of the common refrains of the uninformed chattering class is that ICE activity is not taking place in Red states. Currently, Texas is detaining an average of 176 illegals a day, or over 1200 a week. That is being accomplished with a minimum of public notice, much less outcry. Minnesota has seen the detention of approximately 3,000 since the start of operation Metro Surge some six-weeks ago with the attendant violence against and impediment of law enforcement. The difference between the two is pretty simple. In Texas, state and local government and law enforcement agencies cooperate fully with federal counterparts. In Minnesota, Waltz and the mayor of Minneapolis are leaders of the resistance. I do not know what the investigation of this shooting will disclose, but if anyone has blood on their hands, it is these two.

Mark, I agree with your assessment completely.

I wish Trump, and ICE officials would stop making declarative statements minutes after a shooting. The responsible response would be to wait for more information. It weakens their footing immensely.

But as you stated. Why would a rational person inject themselves into the immediate proximity of an active arrest situation.

Would anybody think it’s normal to see a traffic stop on the side of the road and to stop your car and get in the face of that cop and not expect consequences. Or worse drive around looking for a traffic stop to start your martyrdom.

New video appears to show the nurse was disarmed just before the shooting started. Was the pistol completely clear of the scrum when shooting started ?

Did the cop have an AD prompting others to shoot?

This is why officials should know better than to make declarative statements too early.

Watch the video clip with the Fox News gal interviewing a big shot gun rights advocate. They play the phone video taken from what appears to be an ICE vehicle. The guy in the gray jacket has left the scrum running when a bunch of shots are fired. He is almost to his vehicle when the shots were fired. The other phone video clearly shows him leaving the scrum with the deceased's gun in his hand. They shot an unarmed man. The gun expert said it sure looked to him that the victim was disarmed when the shots were fired. It was NOT what the Fox gal expected him to say.

The family of Ms Good had their own pathologist examine her body. She was shot at least three times: twice in the torso and the final bullet entered her left temple blowing away the right side of her head. A fourth bullet may have grazed her arm. Confirms what the videos seemed to show: she was killed by a shot fired point blank through the open driver's side window as the vehicle drove past the shooter. So much for theories of self defense. That guy should have been charged by now.

It is ridiculous to assume by the make and model of the VA nurse's legal handgun that he took it to the protest to cause mayhem. He certainly had lots of opportunity to do harm with it and he deliberately chose not to. He tried to come to the rescue of a woman one of those goons was manhandling and he could have drawn his weapon then. But he didn't. Minneapolis can be a rough place even without all those ICE goons in town. I can understand why the nurse might be carrying his gun. For protection. That's the whole idea behind the concealed carry permit, right?

Perhaps ICE needs to work a little on their image, I mean can’t they have some sort of official uniforms instead of trying to look tacticool?

If they were to look less like a paramilitary group and more like a police force that might help them and the Trump administration much more in reaching their objectives in deporting illegal immigrants more then their current style. Also it does not help them when they say things like: “It's like call of duty! So cool huh?” next to a camera.

If the government doesn’t have to follow the constitution with illegals, what’s stopping them from committing unconstitutional acts on citizens? What’s stopping them from breaking into your home to “ensure” you’re compliant? Precedence matters in the court of law, and the more Trump gets away with, the more a democrat president can get away with. Presidential terms end, and you need to be prepared with the precedence you set for the next time around. Because democrats can be vengeful. If you allow the military to be sent in to do police work, a democrat can send the military to your house to force you to hand over your guns. That’s why precedence matters.

Not sure why I would need to remove the magazine. If my rifle fails to feed, I just eject the round that didn't load and cycle another from the magazine, which can't be removed. Never had a 1911 jam or my Browning Hi-Power either so no experience clearing a jam. I guess it could happen. Not going to worry about it. Understand that 1911 is not double action. All the modern LEO auto handguns are double action. Those can be carried safely with a round in the chamber and hammer down, like a double action revolver. I do not recall any of the old lawmen walking around with single action Colt Peacemakers that were full cocked. Granted the 1911 has a side safety but I didn't find it to be real handy.

Wow, so much to unpack here, let's see if I can expand.

Regarding jams and malfunctions, most common one is a stovepipe which is a case stuck in the ejection port. Solution is called tap, rack, bang. You tap the magazine (in case it was loosened accidentally, rack the handgun sideways to drop the case and shoot).

In your case, not having fired at all, the most common would be a double feed. Racking won't clear it, you have to remove the magazine (if have multiples drop it as it could be a magazine issue), rack multiple times to clear the rounds, feed a magazine, tap, rack, and bang again.

I understand 1911 is a single action. I have shot over a million rounds and have thousands of dry fire hours with a 2011 and 1911 (2011 is a double stack 1911) in practice and competitions. Have encountered all of the possible malfunctions and even squibs.

Most LEO guns are not double action anymore, but striker fired and most have no external safety. Some agencies allow experienced LEOs get single action 2011s (STI Staccato). My CCW is an STI DVC Carry (earlier model of Staccato) 2011 that holds 17 rounds. Pic below.

You can't compare a Peacemaker revolver to a semi-automatic 1911, different manual of arms. Peacemaker, one had to manually cock prior to firing every shot. 1911, the initial cocking is by racking the gun to load from the magazine, after that it automatically cocks it when the gun cycles. Manipulating the safety just takes practice, one lowers the safety after the gun clears the holster and is on the target.

It’s a widely reported issue not one soldier. I’ve never owned a 320 so have zero 1st hand knowledge. There are many videos on the Internet of people going through the motions to duplicate it and the gun going off with nothing near the trigger.

P.S. my larger point was that officials would be better served waiting till all the facts are in before going on live TV saying he was going to take out all the ICE agents. I just brought that Sig in as one of those possibilities to chase down before stepping up to the mic.

Sorry, they don't have the same rights as citizens. They get a trial in immigration Court and an appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals. They do not get Federal District Court trial despite what the D's and their MSM mouth pieces pronounce.
