The far better COA (in my opinion) would have been to wait until Kelly is right at the height of his next campaign, and then drop social media bombs all over him for his behavior... remind people of his antics and ask them if thats really the best they can do in selecting a US senator...

at the end of the day its all about dollars... use his behavior to stiffle campaign contributions by reminding people over and over again of every negative thing he has done while in office...

If we assume they reduce him to even an E1, does anyone really think that harms him financially in any way? He's a former astronaut that at one time was pulling up to $100K per speaking engagement (he made $1.7M in the two years prior to becoming a senator alone), that according to Forbes has a net worth of $34M.. his O6 retirement pay is pocket change compared to his other income streams.. he also has book royalties, an aerospace company that he has a significant stake in, and a number of other things that provide him very handsome paychecks regularly..

Theyre just trying to embarrass and humiliate him... and all they are accomplishing is pissing people off (and not just democrats)...
OPINON, I think the best thing for Capt. Kelly would be to recall him into active duty service, something he's very proud of, and rightly so. stick him in a back office somewhere planning strategic oil reserves or Greenland's rearmament. then he's subject to full UMCJ and not able to politic and criticize, everyones happy, except him of course. But he could be clearly on his way to his next promotion, maybe running Venz. oil reserves.

Interesting data release from Ukraine. Most casualty claims from any side are inevitably exaggerated during wartime.

The difference with these is that these are just drone engagements and they are recorded as they strike their target. In other words, they should be more accurate than simple estimates. One would assume the majority of personnel casualties are wounded rather than killed, but explosive wounds tend to be of a serious nature.

The other number could be anything from combat platforms to bunkers.

The point is, a monthly loss rate of this proportion is unsustainable by any population. Such losses would also go far in explaining the collapse of the Russian fall offensive.

Putin is clearly running out of man power ,hes just about emptied the prisons to fill out the ground ranks. With Venz. drone manufacturing in conjunction with Iran screeching to a standstill Putin may be brought to his knees, no soldiers ,no drones.
In conjunction with that SWEDEN has grabbed one of his ghost fleet tankers which was reportedly ripping up the comm. cables on the ocean floor as well as conducting comm. spy ops on Finland and Sweden , who has consequently threaten to stop all his ghost fleet from transiting the Finland straight with oil from ST. Petersburg, where he is getting about 60% of his oil revenue. His ghost fleet tankers are not insured , not maintained, and frequently turn off their ID transponder's for long periods of time , all illegal , for oil transports especially.
Heres hoping Ukraine can hold out long enough in 2026, which is shaping to be the year of dramatic change.

It surprises me that a retired military officer would be part of such a video. In particular, one with such distinguished record of combat and service. I cannot speak for the other branches of service but since I earned the title of U.S. Marine, I can speak to how we were taught in the Corps. It was obvious to me that Senator Kelly was intentionally causing young Marines/Army/Navy/Air Force to question or doubt validity of orders and their trust in the chain of command. Illegal orders are pretty well defined....take My Lai massacre for example. A commander is well aware of the necessity of a unit and it's members to follow orders for mission accomplishment. We were taught as Marines mission is first priority. I know our military forces in general, are all taught the independence and flexibility of command in that individual commanders do not necessarily have to rely on approval from above for every decision...this being one of the U.S. strengths as opposed to a communist unit that may not have that speed of decision-making available. But without that trust in decisions and orders from all levels, mission accomplishment is lost. You cannot sow seeds of doubt in that Marine rifleman or any other soldier, airman, or seaman.

Since you are a Marine, I am guessing you are well versed in its history. Double Medal of Honor recipient, General Smedley Darlington Butler became very critical of politics and the use of the military back in the day. I believe the book Butler wrote was called “War is a Racket.”

However, I don't think he did anything wrong and given his military record and service, he's earn my respect
i respect his military service as well. as far as doing nothing wrong, i would respectfully disagree. the way it was done was unnecessary and i believe subversive. that was wrong, especially for a patriot. and as a officer, he should know better.

Kelly has become a shrill for the Democrat party. Any person willing to sell out the 2nd amendment -and other things-on party lines has lost some credibility . He’s turned himself into a clown at best.
Or he just has different views on a number of subjects than you do. He is a sitting Senator that has been elected by people of AZ that obviously agreed more with him than his GOP opponent.

Heck, as others have stated the pushback from Hegsweth etc. has guaranteed a re-election at worst and makes him a viable candidate for Dems at 2028 at best.

This is exactly how I viewed the Ill advised video. They plant doubt with rank and file military members. Then claim. “Hey we were simply reminding people they don’t have to follow illegal orders.”

When we all know the true intention.

Similar to yelling on a plane, “Hey this plane could be on fire or hey this plane could have a bomb on it. “

Then, claiming to the authorities, I did not say there was a bomb on it. I said there could be.

They think they’re being coy with a five-year-old child’s defense

All the members of Congress in that video were veterans (one was CIA). Kelly is the only one who is receiving a pension, but all veterans.

I am no lawyer, but I suspect this will be viewed legally much like the letter signed by the former intelligence officials (several on military pensions) attempting to debunk the Hunter Biden laptop contents. Nowhere in the letter does it say the computer was actually Russian disinformation. Rather, it said it had the "earmarks" of Russian disinformation.

My 2 cents. I think the video accomplished exactly what it was intended to accomplish, which, IMO, was to troll the right, especially the administration. In this it succeeded very well. I was given a class in not obeying un-lawful orders over 50 years ago and I assume the "idiot privates" since have been given the same. The people in the video said nothing that the officers who taught my class didn't say. Was the video necessary? No. Did it get the intended reaction? Big YES. Charlie Chan said "Insult like poison. Only effective if taken."

Personally I have thought Kelly was a Clown ever since he got caught buying multiple guns that his wife was trying to get banned; further he and his wife owned the exact model G19 she was shot with years before the incident happened.

FYI - The gun store owner recognized him and refused to sell him those guns.

Scum sucker Swalwell says that if he's governor, he'll strip ICE officers of drivers licenses if they wear masks.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) vowed Wednesday that if elected governor he’d strip driver’s licenses from federal immigration officers wearing masks in California.

“If the governor has the ability to issue driver’s licenses to people in California, if you’re going to wear a mask and not identify yourself, you’re not going to be eligible to drive a vehicle in California,” Swalwell told MS NOW.

Hard to strip them of drivers licenses issued in other states…

And… that’s just a way to motivate ICE to create a federal drivers license.. much like you have to have a military DL to drive military vehicles…

Say federal DL’s aren’t accepted in CA? Cool… Federal dollars to maintain your highways and interstates aren’t provided to CA…

Let’s see who wins that fight…

Swalwell is an idiot if he thinks his plan has a snowballs chance in hell of working…

Just more campaign rhetoric out of yet another career political chimp…

Media is so misleading. Here is an article...

The headline:

ICE detains man who has lived in US since he was a baby at routine appointment as family suffers

Start of the article:
ICE detained a man who has been living in the U.S. since he was a baby, remanding him into federal custody after a routine appointment with immigration officials.

Chong Leng Vue, 45, was brought to the U.S. as a baby from a refugee camp in Thailand. His family was one of many that fled Laos during the Secret War and was granted asylum in the U.S.

You have to read the article to the finish for the facts.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told the outlet that Chong Leng Vue was convicted of three counts of assault, two firearm-related felonies and concealing and receiving a firearm. An immigration judge had ordered his removal in February 2004, DHS said.

Frustrating.

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
