I guess old Milton must have slept through the 1990s and the Clinton administration when the federal budget was balanced after raising taxes on the rich. If only this group had the ability to think back 30 years ago. Dementia is one hell of a disease. My condolences.
Wrong again. But thanks for winning the argument for the conservatives here.

The Democrats got slammed in the midterm so Clinton had to come to the middle and negotiate with Newt Gingrich. Newt Gingrich forced a balance budget and here is how. It certainly wasn’t by raising Taxes.

Jesus dude, you cant even read your own response. Look at the last bullet point YOU posted. It specifically references a strong and growing economy, PLUS the earlier 1993 tax increase law on the rich. Which is what I was referring to. Once again you and brent have confused correlation with causation.

Gov reductions played a minor role in the surplus. Go take a look at the deficit trend-line prior to the enacting of those laws. It takes years to change the direction of an economy this large. The 93 law had already reduced the deficit from $300 Billion to $22 Billion by the time the 97 laws were passed.

Yes, I did post it.

You glide past 99% of it and pull out the part you like. tax increases.

This is the operative sentence you either didn’t read or didn’t like.

(President Bill Clinton and House Speaker Newt Gingrich balanced the budget through a mix of spending cuts, targeted tax cuts, and caps on government growth rather than tax hikes alone.)

I'm all about keeping the A-10 going, at least until a suitable replacement can be developed. The smaller prop driven alternatives are more suited to low intensity conflicts, or what used to be called COIN.

Here in GA the NFA process still applies. :(

I just created a thread for this, but it's big news now that it's gone "official"

I am not sure this is true. Just checked with my local guy (in Texas) and his position is no judicial decision has struck down Federal NFA requirements. Apparently the decision comes with an in place stay to allow the Federal Government to appeal, which for the moment at least, it seems determined to do.

I’ve received conflicting reports on this, a dealer told me yesterday it’s still in effect but someone told me this morning that the Feds allowed the appeal window to expire.
Time will tell.

I don’t see the DoJ in this administration challenging the courts ruling. Especially right now when the republicans need as much support as possible going into the midterms.. the Trump DoJ doesn’t need to swat the hornets nest of the far right 2A part of the party right now (Cornyn found out the hard way how much clout they bring)…it would create discontent with the far right and make getting them to the polls even harder in November…

My guess is some other court will try to legislate from the bench and come up with some sort of blocking maneuver.. but that will take time… and a liberal court in CA or NY or DC also doesn’t want to fire up the 2A crowd going into the midterms… so.. they’ll wait until dec/jan…

Which will cause the USSC to ultimately have to get involved… but that will also take time…

Maybe in 2-4 years we will have absolute clarity lol

I did some more research too, and was slightly hasty in my excitement. Some dealers can (and some will) process a suppressor sale as was suggested in my previous post. However, there is still about 60 days where the appeal can be filed where this goes back in limbo.

The paywall buster. Enjoy the read good sir.
Why not just pay the fee and support the business? In Canada, Blacklocks Reporter, a fantastic investigative publication here, has been in a lengthy battle with the Canadian Government because they breach the copyright by sharing a few subscriptions. One subscription may not sound like a lot, but when thousands do it the struggling owners take the hit. Holly Doan, the owner, is tenacious so she survives.

This seems spot on to me... and unlikely to happen. Bret Baier talked with Jack Keene yesterday, and Keene had a lot of the same thoughts.

NYT is reporting Luigi Mangione will be entering a Guilty plea today. This is of great comfort to me. I'm truly, truly worried of jury nullification with this guy. There have been too many people trying to devise plans to pressure jurors or somehow hang the jury. If this guy gets off, it will be open season on anyone the left doesn't like moving forward.

25 years or more in prison is a much better deal than allowing the potential for a jury-nullification of a leftist activist murdering innocent people.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
