I would start with removing the people being radicalized and the the reason for the radicalization. But hey, that's just me.

Everyone is condemning the laws in Australia England and Canada and don’t get me wrong I’m as disheartened as anyone over liberal gun laws but isn’t the real issue the fact you can no longer rely on a jury of your peers to acquit you?

If the man who had taken the gun away from the shooter had then used it on the shooter he could sleep pretty soundly at night knowing his fate was in the hands of our collective, if the jury was made up of the members of an alphabet soup Palestine rally he’d be condemned surly. Isn’t that the true legal issue?

The Syrian born Australian hero took the correct legal action. If the guy on the ground was no longer armed and he shot the terrorist while he was retreating or crawling away like a bug. In a liberal setting he could definitely be prosecuted.

Be careful when posting online on how you would have shot him. It can be used against you if you are ever in a similar situation. The argument is. you think you are Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson. Looking for trouble.

A retired F-15 fighter pilot friend told me the following. We were discussing China and their capabilities. He basically said that our aircraft could fire every missile at their disposal, and the Chinese wave would still be coming due to sheer volume of aircraft they have, if they all could get off the ground of course. He also mentioned that our fighter pilots would run circles around the Chinese pilots, based on experience and training. He flat out said that our fighter pilot training is by far the best in the world. A fighter pilot will fly at a minimum 2-3 times a week (if not more), and if not in the cockpit, he/she would be on the Sim conducting more training.

Many years ago, our fighter squadron went to Rostock, Germany to fly with the German's Mig-29s. At that time, we had heard all these great things about this aircraft, about the look down, shoot down capabilities, etc, etc. Our Block 32s F-16s (old acft, I believe we are up to Block 60 F-16Es now) did amazingly against the Mig-29s, on an average of 7-8 Migs killed for every F-16 lost. Oh, and the German fighter pilots were/are probably better trained than the Chinese pilots are.

I'm only giving my perspective from the Air Force side of the house. The Naval Aviators and Marine Fighter Pilots are all excellent pilots with plenty of stick experience and again would fly circles around any enemy pilot.

These people will go after any issue but the real ones.

I don't think that's it at all. They've acknowledged the victims, sang kumbaya over the man who disarmed the dad terrorist, told everyone to unite, avoided using the word islamic, yada, yada, yada.

Blaming guns is the distraction and perfect opportunity to take more rights from good citizens.

Nobody has placed proper blame. Nobody has taken proper blame. By all rights there should be politicians in jail. They know this. Instead, the good citizen will be held responsible.

The proper blame is on Iran. Our intelligence and Israeli Intelligence both know exactly who is radicalizing people to attack Jews and westerners. There should be an open acknowledgment that Iran with help and funding from Hamza Bin Laden and proxies are behind all of this. World wide.

Seems like the assessment in 2019 was wrong. I guess the only solutions for Australia is to have more gun laws. SMH!

Not really, I don't think. The laws in these countries have been written to make any use of force by civilians a crime. Any competent prosecutor would get a guilty finding from any average jury. Things may not be as bad as it.looks to me as a US citizen, but I have read enough about guilty findings in the UK to believe that it is.

It is very difficult to compare, because there are several different self defense standards in the United States, but I don't think many Americans really understand the Canadian law on self-defense. To be fair lots of Canadians don't either.

There is no duty to retreat in Canada, and as long as the force used to respond to the threat is reasonable and proportionate, you are good to go.
