Trump does not have a month to spare in turning the ship around. Everyone knows Biden‘s policies caused this sticky inflation. ( Trump is actually lucky that the Fed didn’t lower interest rates too soon exacerbating this sticky inflation.)

But one year in and people no longer care who caused the inflation. At this point they just want it fixed and there is actually no such thing.
Prices have been reset to the current prices. Do we think employees are going to take pay cuts from the Covid and the inflation period?
They are not going backwards.

So the only lever Trump has left to pull is to get rid of the ridiculous number of tariffs he has on every market.

I think we all know he is not going to do that. So the midterms will be on the cost of goods. The winner is the new socialist party and democrats.

Now that the Dems have used the shutdown to win a few specific elections, are they going to vote to open things back up?

I’m going to guess no… this will embolden them…

Many of the candidates that just won are extremists (Mandami, Jones, etc)… and the extreme left is what is pushing Schumer to toe the line..

Had even just a couple of those far left seats not gone their way, I think it would have given Schumer room to push back on the AOC, Takib, Omar, et al crowd and demonstrate a D desire to start to return to center…

This is just going to tell him that D’s want more extremism..

Sad ending for 3 people onboard a UPS Cargo plane in Kentucky

Looks like an engine was on fire. 7 killed and some are missing on the ground.

I think Schumer is toast regardless. If AOC decides to run I don’t think he will win in a primary now that the extreme left has been able to get out the vote.

Sad day for Nova Scotia the mp for my riding the only conservative in the province sold out and crossed the floor becoming a liberal.
Pierre has become an anchor around his party’s neck, he should have conceded defeat in the beginning as opposed to changing ridings and calling a by-election. Sounds like more MP’s might be crossing the floor as well. Doesn’t bode well for the Conservatives.

It only took 24 years…

Sadly, they started reporting the ground casualties after the dust settle a little. They originally said only 3 were on board?

On thing I keep seeing posted is how in the past a man could afford a house, a car and a decent lifestyle on his salary.

They fail to dig deeper and not realize that the house was about 1,200 sq ft with a single bathroom, there was maybe one B&W TV, a single house phone. No eating out on a regular basis or buying clothes every week. Not to mention it took mom the whole day to keep the house going where she did not have the equipment to save time.
Yes, and families generally had one car.

Yes, and families generally had one car.

Anecdotally, our parents bought lousy houses. Their fit and finish was poor. They were small. However, every generation from Greatest Gen to Boomers to Gen X has had declining trade skills. A lot of those stunning dream homes in Westchester County, NY and on the North Shore in IL were middle middle class homes in 1970. They were remodeled and expanded, all while the owners enjoyed a good tailwind pushing up appreciation too.

The Gen Y and Z generations have a lot more delusion than older generations. They think the house owned by older people looked the same when new as it does today. Not true.

Trying to make sense of this....as Democrats moving as well.....

That sounds good on the surface but if the people that move to red states still vote for democrats just not socialist/communist democrats it may turn some state houses and legislators blue. Since the census is taken every 10 years I believe, that gives them 5 years until the house seat allocations are divided up.
Another huge problem is whenever a red state redraws congressional districts it gets bogged down in court but if a red state does it nothing seems to be challenged. We may get some relief from this when the Supreme Court rules on the case out of Louisiana soon.

"President Donald Trump on Wednesday blamed his party’s bruising election night losses on the government shutdown and urged Republicans to end the funding gridlock, displaying fresh urgency as sweeping Democratic victories portended midterm trouble for the GOP.

“We have to get the country open. And the way we’re going to do it this afternoon is to terminate the filibuster,” Trump said during a meeting with Republican senators at the White House. “We will pass legislation that you’ve never seen before, and it’ll be impossible to beat us.”

Brilliant idea - We're not happy with how it's going so let's change the rules. And doggone it Republicans, get in line and do my bidding dammit.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
