He is indeed a lifer - a man who contributed his life’s work to this country. Sadly, for too many ungrateful people like — well you? I had the good fortune to be his rater and mentor for a year and a half when he was a LTC. Would that more men in this country were remotely like him.

To add a bit more, this supposed bootlicker completed the airborne, air assault, and ranger courses wearing that tab and those badges through his career. In combat, he earned the combat infantryman badge and Bronze Star with V device (for valor) with THREE oak leaf clusters. For you non-military readers, that means he earned the award on four occasions. I never counted the combat deployment bars on his sleeve. He retired as a three star after commanding the United States Army Europe. He has strongly advocated for US support of Ukraine.
