I just can't do that. If it really doesn't matter then he shouldn't say it. And at this point he has said so much so loudly he has convinced me that's who really he is... and that he's not worth my vote.

There is no part of me that believes he is capable of doing it again or even wants to. Donald Trump is all about Donald Trump and nothing more. That is what I believe. Hell, I support Haley. He's already told me he doesn't want my vote anyway.

I'd agree, but since none of them will be in the election they are, as of now, irrelevant. We can wish that wasn't true, but it is. Unless one of them dies, the race is between Trump and Biden. I am awake, are you?

Yes. It is hard to get past the stupid things he says, but do we vote on the past record of what he actually did as president versus what Biden has actually done, or what has been said? And speaking of saying incredibly stupid things, Biden is never going to make it as a brilliant orator either, although Biden's speech issues seem to be related to dementia.

Thinking that the many people that will vote for Trump are blind followers of the man is just ignorant. Sometimes you just have to make a choice based on what you have to work with. Wishing for a better choice will not do any of us any good.

I have a BS from Louisiana Tech and a MS from LSU.

There's a funny saying in Louisiana and it really applies to all the smaller universities in the state: If you see someone wearing a Louisiana Tech shirt, chances are they went to Louisiana Tech. If you see someone wearing a LSU shirt, chances are they went to Walmart.

Just about everyone in the state is nuts about LSU...........and for good reason I might add.

I find a great deal of the anti Trump members here (yes there are exceptions) are of the upper middle class. Those member can afford to look 20-30 years ahead, or look at geo political issues. To them I would say you are as out of touch with middle America as Biden and the Dems are! And I kinda despise you as much as I do the Dems.

Republicans that don't earn $100k a year or more don't look 20-30 years ahead, they look 20-30 days ahead because that's all they have. They want to be able to make rent, not even think of sending their kids to Yale, Harvard, Perdue and all the other grand places I've seen in the previous pages of mutual self stroking and circle jerking that has taken place.

Sorry but the rich Republicans have left their fellow party members in the dust. It's great to have the bank account that affords you to have the freedom to allow 4 more years of Dem rule. So sit back, drink a couple bottles of your $100 scotch while fondling your $50k arms collection while the rest of the "rubes / uneducated / yokel Republicans struggle under the Dems... Yeah let them eat cake!

@Zambezi I am unclear how you know someone's economic status. I prefer to think that the Trump / anti-Trump issue is probably more an age thing than an economic thing. But that's just a guess, since I don't really know many peoples exact age. The fact of the matter is, Trump really isn't a Republican.

I went to college, earned three engineering degrees, paid off my college loans and worked my butt off for 40 years. I don't drink scotch and my most expensive firearm is about $4k.

I think it is sad for the US that our choice for POTUS is going to be between Trump and Biden. Neither should be president.

When I was growing up is the 60s, 70s & 80s, the Republican party was known as the party of the rich and white collar workers. The Dems were the blue collar, union and Southerners. Ronald Reagan was president 1981-89 and broaden the appeal to many more folks. Reagan started flipping the south. This trend continued because the Dems would roll out some liberal, out of touch guy from Massachusetts every 4 years. Trumps election brought in a lot blue collar supporters, but alienated a lot of suburban, soccer moms. The trend of Trump alienating more and more life long Republicans continues. Trump is dividing the party, not uniting it.

That reminds me of an informal meeting I had with some other prison staff before I retired. Knowing that I am very conservative, one of them asked if I donated to charitable organizations. I told them that I did and listed St. Jude's, for childhood cancer treatment, supported a child in Africa through Children of the Nations, Mule Deer Foundation (had to explain to them that it is a conservation organization), and a couple of other things. I then asked them what they donated to as individuals. They looked at each other kind of sheepishly. I told them that it was well documented that conservative people donated far more to charity than liberals did. I also said that liberals tended to only want to donate other people's money. It's still true.
