He did this 2 weeks before opening of deer season......he was released from the hospital just 2 days after the end of the deer season.
His now former best friend and hunting buddy gave him the good news on how he [his now former best friend] was able to kill that big buck in the first hour on the opening morning of deer season.

What sling studs do those swivels fit ? They look to be quite a bit wider than the standard modern swivels. They may be just what I need for my Remington 30 Express wide swivel studs. Can you measure the pin diameter ?
