I have fallen in love with buffalo hunting. My hunt took me to Limpopo in full bloom, and the hills of the Northern Cape. Being certified addict, I am planning my next hunt. I am thinking I may like to experience a different place. Unfortunately, I cannot bring my rifle into Zimbabwe, so it is off my list for the time being. Tanzania is probably way outside of my budget.

Mozambique, Namibia, back to South Africa, or somewhere else? Where would you go, and what time of year?

Mozambique. Call Gary Duckworth or Neil.

When I was last in Coutada 9 they were not yet hunting buffalo. They are doing very well now, and it might be the top plains game concession I’ve ever been in. Huge anti poaching effort, numerous bore holes, great management of an area. They have also partnered with another outfit to open up an other area in Moz. for Mokore clients. I have only hunted with Neil, and only twice. Top notch PH. Lots of lion and elephant as well

Check out the video on rumble.com. It’s about 3 hours long. Hunting buffalo in Coutada 9. It will be eye opening. 3 martinis worth.

What’s the price range and experience you are looking for? What plains game do you want in addition to buffalo?
If I couldn’t bring my rifle to Zimbabwe I think I’d look to Zambia. The southern Luangwa isn’t that much different than Zimbabwe pricing. I generally like hunts later in the year once the visibility has improved. Lots of good options in Mozambique too, but the total costs to get trophies home from there concerns me.

I would recommend SA its one of the safest country and bringing your own rifle its easy and affordable I

The Caprivi strip in Namibia is a target rich environment for buffalo. I had an excellent, albeit quick hunt last year with @ndumo SAFARIS. Drop Karl Stumpfe a message.

I have hunted SA 4 different times and never had issues and very satisfy
I have done 4 cape buff limpopo also plains game and even my last trip
trophy male lion .

Look into the Upper Luangwa Valley in Zambia.

I hunted buffalo in the Wuparo conservancy of the Caprivi strip. It was a wonderful experience.

I read your report when you went in March. I only know SA so I cannot give good advice on where - but I can help you with when. In your report you kept talking about intense heat and lush bush. Go in June. When I went to Limpopo in June it was 40's in the morning and 70's by high noon. The weather was fantastic.

My daughter went to Zambia for her honeymoon and loved it. Zambia did enter my mind, but I thought it would be a more costly proposition. Thank you for this info.

I don’t have any particular plains game animals in mind except for a Barbary sheep and bushbuck. My wife is losing her patience with the amount of wall space I am claiming for trophies. Those two still appeal to me, so that brings me back to South Africa at some point. However, for a buffalo hunt I am considering a different environment so long as it is not priced too much higher than South Africa.

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
