Ramaphosa’s full statement on the land issue is that they would expropriate land without compensation only where it led to increased agricultural production and increased food security.
As a starting point they would have to amend the constitution, which he co- authored, by attaining a 66 percent majority in parliament. Something the ANC hasn’t been able to achieve before on any of there proposed constitutional changes.
No doubt they intend to expropriate land where it’s not productively used. Plenty of failed government agricultural projects to begin with as a starting point.
This new policy has hardly received as much media coverage as expected. Everyone knows the land issue will always be a political tool and Ramaphosa is playing to those in favor of it in his own party. However by saying it has to lead to increased agricultural production, he’s paying it lip service. And setting the bar very high.
The general feeling amongst our local farming community is overwhelmingly positive.
I'd like to see some posts by Outfitters that have their operations in South Africa giving us their thoughts on possible and or expected effects of this declaration. Politicians often "speak" to their "bases" knowing full well that little or nothing will change.
It’s crap like this that has kept me from buying property there. I hope it’s all smoke and mirrors. Sad that u get rid of one idiot to be replaced by another
Given our circumstances and demographics, I don’t think we could have wished for a better president. A couple of years ago most gave SA no hope predicting R20/ USD. It’s now R11.50/ USD a reflection of the confidence investors have in our new president. He’s no idiot, I assure you.
Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!
Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx
I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
