Welcome to AH William! Nice to have you as part of our community. Enjoy the site!

Welcome to AH William. I missed your initial post as I was deer hunting with my family. BUT I have some words of advice for you. Don't remove the possibility of hunting Africa from the equation. Once you heal from the surgery if you haven't already a discussion with your Dr. about using 30 Caliber rifles and under might just be your ticket. There are lots of African Plains Game that can be hunted with the calibers I have in mind. I'm 76 and physically challenged in that I can't walk very far. My first safari was at age 73 the second at age 75. Remember until you "kick the bucket" the game isn't over.

Welcome to the family and the forum William, you are in the right place!

@Williami D Sykes dont give up. There is a post here last week about a 104 year old woman who was able to take a Buck from a blind in the US.
I thought Never do Africa. This mob convinced me it’s not that expensive. They are very supportive.
I worked on my wife, I said how would you like to spend your Wedding Anniversary in Africa, no problem.
Our first rip abroad and a lifetime ambition for me. Except the Lion is out of budget.
Stay here keep reading, I will report back in six weeks about my Cull Hunt adventure!

Hi, My name is William D Sykes and I am from California. I have been interested in hunting in Africa all my life, but for some reason after another reason I have never been able to make it over there. I doubt at my age now, 75, I will ever be able to go, especially after just having open heart surgery. But I am going to enjoy reading all about it on this page. Thanks for accepting me

Hello William,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

I was born in Torrance CA and lived there in south/central Los Angeles until age 14 or 15.
My father then accepted a job in the Sacramento area and we moved there (that was in 1967).
Upon graduating from high school, I began moving north on my own, finally in my 20’s, ending up here in Anchorage, Alaska.

I realize you and I are not spring chickens any more but, Africa is there if you want it.
Safari companies are very accustomed to us older chaps arriving to hunt, fish and see the sights.
Most young men are busy building their careers and raising their children, etc.
Therefore, many Safari clients are shall we say, past the phase of mentioned “young man expenditures” and ready to spend a little of what we’ve saved up, on ourselves for a change.

Anyway, Africa or no Africa in your plans, we are glad you joined.

Regards,
Paul.

Phillip I was reviewing some of the auctions online and saw your Nubian Ibex hunt coming up this weekend. It also showed you have Addax and Axis deer. Is there a website I can go to and see the lodge, cost of animals and what is available? Thanks Mark

I really like that knife you're selling. It looks so similar to my original 1306 that has been around a long time. I can't spend that much but if you get to a point where you'd entertain offers let me know. Thx, James
