All the respect in the world for your attempt. What amazed me is how far away that warthog was before you completed your "death spiral belly flop"! He was in the next zip code before you hit the ground. I bought 4 spears while in South Africa last month. I may have to give that a try some time. It looked to be real fun.
when you emailed that to me , I laughed and showed the kids ,
posting it ,just proves to me that your an outstanding bloke . willem
a wee bit top heavy in yowie jacket , mate ,perhaps .
but you can see the adrenenliane charge coursing through you, in your movements.
better luck next time
Oh that just made my evening! Willem, if you're ever over here or we run into each other in RSA, first beer is on me, have to love a guy who knows hunting is supposed to be fun even in failure.
Very good effort though... Wasn't until the (slow motion) portion that I saw how fast that little SOB was. By the time you caught up to your spear, that little buggers dust trail looked 100+m away from your faithful belly flop.
Amazing Effort Will. Now that I caught my breath and can see again, I'll say this, nothing shows great effort when you fail with style. I give that flop a 9.5 for sure. If you had gone for a "snow angel" I would have added the .5 for a perfect 10 for ingenuity and additional style points.
I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
