‘Evening all. I’ve been on for some modest research and finally joined the brotherhood a week or two ago. I mostly avoid hunting/shooting forums for obvious reasons but I’m digging the vibe here. Plus I’ve had my eye on a DG hunt ever since I narrowed my granddaddy’s copy of “Hunter”. Definitely the first book report on the Big Five to ever grace that 6th grade class!

Anyway, I’m Texas based, still in early planning stages for a hunt, soaking it in and hoping the wife thinks taxidermy from Africa costs the same as whitetails.

Probably the sanctimonious preaching, the pervasive culture of being “right” and not about sharing ideas/experiences and helping people, enjoying the love of a common sport, etc. The worst is some poor guy asks a question and two pages later everyone has chimed in on how much better their (fill in the blank) is and nobody has addressed the OP.

That’s the long way around the barn, but in my limited time here I haven’t seen by of that.
