Lessons Learned African Animals Are TOUGH

Great buff and one helluva warthog!

Spectacular! Looks like a great place to hunt. Congratulations on those animals too. Question: What is that flag you are holding by the Buffalo?

It was a fantastic area to hunt! Thank you for the kind words! The flag in the photo is of my alma mater for my university (Clemson University). We are the Clemson Tigers and our colors are orange and regalia/purple. It is Clemson tradition to carry a flag with you whenever you travel and take pictures and share them with the university.

Great pictures, and that warthog is ....well a real hog !

That sounds like an amazing hunt! Very fine trophies. That buff looks incredible, and the other's aren't too shabby either. (y) Congratulations!

Clemson - jeeeeeez - as a die hard LSU fan we should have words sometime - or a beer. Great write-up and great buff. And brother, that warthog is truly spectacular. Congrats on a great hunt, and many thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the compliment. That is a good question! I can't seem to find their information any more online! Now if you search, everything is a horrible review. Thank goodness that I bought quite a few boxes of my .416 Weatherby Magnum ammunition (both soft points and solids) while I could find it, so I am set for a while! Once that's gone, I guess I shall re-zero my rifle with something new.

Take a look at Hendershot's custom ammo:

400gr at 2700fps..........ummm no thank you! The thought of it makes me say owwww!

Congratulations on your hunt successes! Especially taking a buff on your first safari. And good to see you're a die-hard Clemson Alum. I married one. Now that you've hunted Africa.......your love for it will run just as deep as that color orange.;)

Thank you for the compliments! As for the warthog, I believe I am going to go with a shoulder mount. I am open to suggestions though.

@Dfield you obviously did some planning by taking your Clemson banner all the way to Africa. Are the Tigers ready for Saturday!

Planning and a whole lot of wishful-thinking haha! I think my Tigers are going to be ready! Going to be a great opening Saturday with some amazing college football games!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
