I just checked and the current standards around here for big game is
Minimum e100 requirements:
Lead core bullets; either 9g and 2700J OR
10g and 2000J
Copper* bullets; 7.7g and 2000J
* I think this means "non-lead" rather than copper specifically.
- 9g = 140 gn -> in older rifles hard to get to the required velocities without excessive pressures
- 10g = 155 n -> to 'standard' weight when it comes to to big game bullets for the 6.5x55 - basically safe in "Husqvarna" rifles - but there are some older ex-militiary rifles where this might not be true.
- 7.7.g = 120gn
I thought there was also a minimum calibre requirement of 6.5 mm but I can't find it right now. Maybe it was just in my head, but still this makes some sense as the twist rates/bullet lengths for for bullets in this weight class does not really come into play in e.g. .243 Win etc. So it might not be a formal requirement, but a de-facto effect of the other requirements.
