Hello all, over the last few months I did some gun safe shuffling with the goal of picking up a double. That fell through and I’ve ended up joining the 458 Lott club. I saw this one listed online and pulled the trigger. It was also something of a deal so I couldn’t help myself.

It’s a CZ 550 that had the AHR magic worked on it back in 2012. It got the full works to include the stock and the barrel replaced. Luckily it fits me perfectly, especially given the caliber.

I was drawn to the Lott because of the it’s reputation as a great DG round. Also the fact that you can run the 458 Win in it is a nice feature. In any case here I am, I’ve never been recoil shy but still it’s going to be interesting.

Congrats on a Fine looking rifle. AHR does great work. Let us know how it shoots.
I definitely will, I was thinking of trying out the 500 gr TSX rounds first. Sadly I’ll be traveling for next few months so the test will have to wait

Beautiful piece of timber on that one. Congratulations.

Nice

You have a very fine looking rifle!

Beautiful rifle, congrats!

Congratulations! Mine is a Win 70 Safari Express that I had chambered to the Lott. BTW I’ve got some 450 grain Barnes TSX bullets if you reload and are interested shoot me a pm.

Thank you for the offer, unfortunately I’ll be traveling for work over the next few months so load development and shooting will sadly have to wait. Definitely something to look forward when things settle a bit.

Nice rifle congrats the wood on the stock makes it look like a custom from the England.

Now remove the dove tail back sight replace it with a Apex predator mount and get a Trijicon SRO with 1 moa dot mounted on it and you have the ultimate DG rifle. 5 in the mag and shooting 500gr pills at 2200fps for any scenario.

Love it

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
