I live in Texas and have always dreamed of an African hunt but I'm 62 now and doubt I will ever get to go. I've hunted Texas of course and a few states for game and birds. I've always loved hunting, and fishing and my boys do too. Pretty much anything you can go for in the US. I've hunted birds in Argentina several times and love the people there. It's a whole lot cheaper than Africa of course. It's closer and no big effort is need for doves and such but it ain't Africa!! I would dearly love to go hunt in Africa...
Maybe if somebody out there is looking for someone to partner up with to take the plunge you might get ahold of me Who knows maybe I'll get to go before I kick this mortal coil...Keep your powder dry!!

Welcome to AH Carl! Browse the DEALS & OFFERS section at https://www.africahunting.com/community/deals-offers.105/, I think that you'll be surprised by some pretty reasonable offers out there. And if you don't mind leaving the trophies behind, you'll save a hole lot. You can also always choose to go on a management hunt which may save you even more. Stick around here long enough and you'll be in Africa very soon...

Did not realize that you've joined already a while back, well glad to you join the conversation.

I had not posted any introduction but I check the site very frequently and now was good a time as any!!

snotexmd, glad you decided to address the forum. There really are some great deals on here. And what has been said already, the taxidermy increases the cost, but lots of photos are cheap. I’m about out of space in my little space and will probably start cull hunts or just photographs.
Here’s hoping you make it to Africa!

Welcome to posting sir! You should give it a try! Africa is a great place to hunt!

Welcome to the community. 62 is the new 30. If you have dreamed of going, I suggest you go. It probably won’t be your last trip there. I have never let a little thing like money keep me from my dreams of Africa. Somehow it always works out. You don’t have to spend a fortune to go. May I suggest you look into your nearest SCI chapter. Most of the annual banquets have numerous safari’s on auction that will go for extremely reasonable prices. Also, keep your eyes on this site as several cancellation hunts will pop up, and if you can travel on short notice, there are some great deals to be had. Lastly, as been stated on this site before, I have never seen a hearse with a luggage rack. Happy hunting!

Welcome and hope you get to hunt Africa soon....

Hello Carl, and welcome!

Welcome to AH!

Brother you are absolutely able to hunt Africa! Give me a shout and I’d gladly point you in the right direction. It’s not near as expensive as you think and I would be glad to help you. I’m not giving you a sales pitch and any Africa dealings I have is merely with friends. I promise it’s a whole lot closer than you think.

Welcome to AH!

Welcome officially!

Welcome! Like gizmo posted, GO!!!!! If you're health is in reasonably good shape and you shop around, I'd bet you could swing a hunt for a lot less than you would imagine.

Welcome aboard Sonotexmd. You "gotta" go, hunting Africa is like nothing you've ever done before. Keep reading the posts on AH and you will find yourself going, more likely sooner than later. In the meantime hog hunting is a good way to tune-up. What part of Texas are you from?

Welcome to AH, you´re still quite young to go to Africa.

Trust me ;)

Welcome Carl. Listen to me....You just GO! Their are some very good deals here. You will always regret not going. Do some euro mounts if need be. But just go sir!

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
