Experienced W. U.S.A. rifle big game hunter would be an apt description of me to date. Never hunted Africa and may never make that journey. But one never knows. I enjoy hunting, processing my own game and all that goes with. Spending time passing the traditions & knowledge on to my kids and grandkids is as important to me as anything. I noticed this forum coming up on some searches, read a number of posts, and liked the expertise and lack of drama.

I have managed to accumulate quite a bit of knowledge about hunting Rocky Mt Elk, Mule/Whitetail deer, Pronghorn and to a lesser extent Cougar, Shiras Moose, BH Sheep and Caribou. Most of which will be of little value here outside the occasional how did this bullet perform and tips on hunting out here as the occasion arises. I’ll contribute where I think I can, and mostly learn from the experts here. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum TMac! A lot of what you have experienced here will transfer well to Africa, although the Africa antelopes anatomy is a bit different than ours. But a proper bullet in their boiler room results in the same way as ours.
You should seriously consider a trip. It is a grand adventure!

Am thinking about it in a few years. Thank you.

Giday and welcome to the A H forums @TMac .

Thank you.

I seem to recall a name similar to yours on a 6.5 Grendel forum, do you post there? I kept getting my posts deleted from system crashes and gave up trying there. But gleaned enough to hopefully make an intelligent choice in 6.5G.

Welcome aboard!

Thank you. Then for the biggest question, Beavers or Ducks, lol.

Got my degree in Eugene, so that should answer the question. No problems with the Beavs' unless they are playing the Ducks!

Got my degree in Corvallis. Feel the same about the Ducks as you do the Beavs. Take care.

Thank you.

Yes I posted there for some time when I was working through the reamer design for and showed the resulting buildo of my Grendel-Max. It was and is an improvment over the standard grendel but have little to offer the forum there since then as there was little interest in my knives and no conversation so it seemed that I was talking to myself.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
