Now that the kids are both off to college I wanted to leave suburbia and move to a more rural area with acreage. LSW nixed that idea, but suggested I redo my office/study and turn our game room/billard room into a proper gun room/reloading room. We started in January and it's been pretty well done for a few weeks. Still a few things to add/change here and there, but you get the idea. It's certainly more "utilitarian" than @Red Leg set-up, but I like it. I decided to leave the case cleaning station in the garage since it's pretty messy.

Reloading counter is stainless steel. Island is 110" x 51" and topped with quartz counter-top that I tested extensively with gun oil, cleaning solvents, etc. and it held up like a champ. I added a second press to my set-up with the excellent convertible press riser from Inline Fabrication. Also added IF rails, etc. which I really like. I'm going to add a second Inline Fab rail above the one in the center of the reloading area since I have more room than I anticipated. Also have a comfy sitting area.

WOW! I don't even reload and I think that looks like a well-thought out area. Congrats, I hope it works as well as it looks.

Very nice. (y) Form following function with elegance is never wrong. Well done.

That turned out really well. Congrats!

That does look great,

but something funny going on are you sure you did not repurpose the wife’s kitchen or take over half a house? You could be in trouble when she gets home from dropping those kids at College. She will not be as impressed as we are!

Good work.

Looks great, but where do all the guns that you haven’t bought yet go?

I’ll have to go vertical on both sides. Luckily the SecureIt system is modular. But want to know a secret? I miscounted and already have one more long gun that the current configuration allows. [emoji15]

Thanks for all the nice comments. The new area has been getting its workout already. Prepped brass for 257 Roberts, 6.5x55, 30-06, and 338 Federal. Loaded up 20 rounds of 257 Roberts with 115 grain Partitions and various weights of IMR 4350 to start load development. Good times.

Very nicely done! I like the color choices too.

And now I must ask: which rifle do you most frequently pull from the shelf for use?

Do you have a favorite rifle amongst them?

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
