Duplicate factory loads?

Hey guys how would I duplicate the factory Hornady Outfitter load with 250 gr CX bullets? My 375 loves them but they're expensive and not always available. I don't have a chronograph yet but have everything else to reload. Or should I just come up with a cheaper load to play with and keep a box of Outfitter to hunt? I really enjoy shooting this rifle and want to do it more but shebaint cheap to feed the good stuff. Last box i bought was around $80 now they're $120! I'd like to find a good load with the Gameking to play around with. As always thanks for your help

You’re definitely going to want to add a chrono to your reloading set-up at some point.

As for mirroring the load sacrifice a round. Pull the bullet, dump the powder, weigh it out and try to find a like powder that’s commercially available in the similar burn rate and volume.

Hornady loads cannot really be duplicated, they do a lot of things with powders that the average guy isn't going to be able to copy. Get a Garmin doppler chrono, check the factory loads, then use reliable load data and start low and work up. If you like light 375 bullets you should try the Barnes 250 tipped TSX and the standard by which all other fast 375 loads are measured with the Barnes 270 TSX. I have a load for the 270 that shoots like a laser and hits like a sledgehammer.

You have to chrono the ammo you have to work up a load thatbeill have similar performance

Get a chorno, and find a load your rifle shoots well, close to POI of the other if possible. If that doesn't work, just work on a practice round and call it a day. It's going to be extremely difficult to duplicate a factory ammo. The manufacturers use a blend of different powders, not the stuff that is available for us at the stores.

It really isnt tho. You may not have exast same fps or powder. But you can find something that is very close. And more consistant

Factories often mix powders
For this exact reason so we can’t copy them
Else we would all just pull the heads dump the powder measure it and there is your load…I wish it was that easy

True, and I believe we are saying the same thing. In the end, it will be easier to find a load that shoots well in his rifle with the components he has, vs. trying to duplicate a factory load.

Ok so chronograph first, suggestions for which one? Garmin has a gen1 and gen 2 now and Athlon has theirs but I've heard it's a bit harder to get consistent reliable readings at times and it's more picky with lighting.

I have a garmin. Its great and intuitive to use.
Im sure gen two is better but i dint know whats different

With over 25 years of loading experience now and 15 of those with a chronograph; my biggest regret is waiting so long to get a chronograph.

After getting one I quickly learned I could load more consistent ammo than I could buy and I also learned that listed velocity of ammo on the box is more often than not a lie.
