Cabelas Bargain Cave is going away

Agree that there are different point restrictions, start dates, seasons, zones, etc. Can be a little complicated. But much of this was put in place to try to appease certain groups, both hunting and non hunting, as well as to put some science into it. Also the forest has changed since I was a teen. Very mature in my area of the NE and the deer carrying capacity is way lower today. Bad news for introducing our youth who want quick and constant action.

Back to the thread title... I went to the Hamburg PA Cabela’s last weekend. Another thread on this site had me looking at cz550’s and Win mid 70 in .375 (which I really don’t need)

I went into the bargain cave which had about 1/2 the normal items. It was also much more neat and organized. Not sure if it’s going away or will just stay in this format.

ell this is coming from some one who has to travel 150 miled or more to go to a cabellas store,We used to once or twice a year but it wasn't just to shop,my god it was like going to wally world, life size elephant and rino mounts of magnificent African animals, huge aquariums with awesome fish, arcade shooting areas ,awesome resteraunt where you could by alligator, now for a guy from Wyoming this was dollars worth of hunting clothes, bootsspecial, the bargain cave has been severly abused for some time because of the cabellas brothers habit of if your not satisfied for any reason we will give you your money back, well I have some friends from the east coast who drive out to wyo to hunt antelope every year and they stop in Sydney and buy 4-5 hundred dollars worth of goods come here use it for a week then stop in Sydney on there way home tell them they are dissatisfied and get all their money back.trust me some of the high prices you see at cabellas are built in to cover for the bargain cave, things don't stay the same forever dangit.now I use sportsmans warehouse most of the time im only 70 mi from them.and the internet alot

Stopped by a cabelas today to check out what was left in the bargain cave. Everything is now 50% off!! I checked out a Swarovski hd straight 20-60x65 spotting scope that can now be bought at $1130.00. Which is one heck of a deal. Only problem is there are bubbles in the glass somewhere inside. I plan to call Swarovski tomorrow and see if this is covered under warranty since it’s in the bargain cave!

I'd buy it and then send it into Swarovski. I am sure that it is covered under their warranty, I'm surprised that Cabela's didn't send it in themselves.

Ha I stopped back by today picked up the Swarovski 20-60 sts HD for $1130.00 and a tc triumph muzzleloader scope combo for $300.00. Heck of a deal!

Visited the Christiana, DE Cabela's store 10/22/18 (yesterday). The Bargain Cave is no more. Space is now filled with racks of shoes. The marine section has been emptied and from what I could see over the curtains, is some kind of Santa Claus operation. Assume they're getting ready for the holiday shopping season. The section that held doggie stuff, tree stands, waterfowl and varmint hunting, trapping supplies and camo clothing is now additional casual clothing racks.

I am sure they will have 10,000 sq feet of logo'd hoodies, and keep a corner or two for hunting items!
My hunting shop has more hoodies than hunting gear these days !
Im almost 60 now and own mmy first Hoodie LOL .

Hamburg, PA bargain cave is now the camo section. No more bargain cave. To be honest I never really found anything in the BC that appealing. I believe the camo room only had Sitka and Cabelas brands. Much smaller selection than before. The big clothing area that used to have hunting clothes and camo is now all regular type clothing. I understand that old cabelas model wasn’t working and changes are being made to increase profits, but was surprised.

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
