Hunting bushpigs at night on walk and stalk is definitely one of the best hunts there is .. just the adrenaline rush is something different

Crops or bush?

Congratulations, by the way.

That would be great fun.

Nice! Congratulations
Bushpig is on my to do list. That sounds like a wild way to hunt them.

Thanks Meigsbucks it definitely a wild way to hunt them.. You can hear them eating the macadamia nuts then you stalk them until you think you're close enough...

Bushpig hunting is not easy, as you likely discovered. I tried sitting at night in cornfields and baiting on a number of occasions. Spent many cold nights trying to be quiet without success. Took me three safaris to finally score. I'm not sure it's easier with hounds, but in any event, my point is, well done. This is an under-rated animal.

Congrats, nice pig !

I have been unable to shoot one so far, the only one that came to my bait was too small

Thanks Nyati it's definitely not a easy hunt sometimes ... Hopefully you'll get one the next time you come to Africa

Thanks Hank2211 hunting them with hounds is also a lot of fun and just as dangerous!!!

Bushpigs are a strange almost mutant animal, IMO. I was very fortunate to get one on my second night of sitting. Very cold night to be sitting in a blind. But, luck was with me and I’ll take luck over skill any day!
Thanks for sharing and congratulations!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
