Best rifle maker in the world

I don’t know about their bolt guns, but the conversations I’m having with Dakota on my Model 10 lead me to believe that it is very much a one off build.

I have no doubt, I was, for what ever reason, thinking of bolt guns. The Dakota M10 is a very beautiful rifle, as a lover of all things single shot I have looked at them more than once! Not to derail the thread too much but I'm a little curious as to why you decided on the 9,3 x 62 as opposed to the 9,3x74R?

The bolts of Dakota are model 76 and 97. I’ve owned both and they truly are built to your specs one at a time. Pick your wood, barrel length, lop etc. I realize this post is for top end makers but it ultimately comes down to which one comes with you as your personal favorite that you have ultimate confidence in cheers

I’ll toss a name in. Ryan Breeding in Nampa, Idaho. His big bores are really nice and on my list of most wanted rifles.

Great question. The rimmed cartridge may have made more sense but I love the history of the 9.3x62. With modern single shot ejector systems it doesn’t seem like a show stopper.

I had one made several years ago. The best quality action, barrel and exhibition grade turkish walnut stock. A beautiful rifle. Now the barrel/front sight are bare metal from taking in/out of soft case on safaris, the magazine plate has the bluing completely worn off from riding against my shirt on many stalks. The wrist and cheek piece of the stock are black from sweat. The bolt handle has the bluing worn off from using it so much. After hundreds of game animals taken, it is better looking to me now than when it was new.

I know for me that if the finances were there it and there were no constraints on resources then there would be a trip to Westly Richards for a Traveler in 318

Maybe I'm biased, but my stock Win model 70s in 375HH and 7 Rem mag give me 1moa @100 and one shot kills. Can't ask for much more and I'm not afraid to take them into the bush for fear of a ding or scratch. High price and famous names don't very often shoot any better. Pretty doesn't do much in the bush, either.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
