7x64/284 rem for long distance work

Sorry forgot to update. Have now taken a deer with the rifle and the meat damage was rather bad. It might have just been the way the shot went so I'll find out with the next one now on Wednesday morning
 
norfolk, what bullet were you using and what range?
 
Also what species? Quite a difference between muntjac and red ;)
 
168 grn nosler accubond long range. It was a roe doe I took. She was at about 100-105m. Back out on Wednesday though see how I get on
 
Didn’t go stalking this morning on account of bad mist and fog.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
