505 Gibbs vs 500 Jeffery. Thoughts on these heavy hitters? Alternatives?

I might be wrong but, at least a couple of months ago norma at the Swedish website listed cases and loaded ammunition for the Gibbs.

I rang up my local firearms dealer yesterday for some 505 Gibbs 600 grain round nose / soft nose and some FMJ rounds . Made by Norma and available for pickup on Monday . Doesn’t appear to be a problem getting this ammo in Brisbane Australia . Only issue is the price - A$30/ round ! Still a lot cheaper than 600 NE - the Kynoch ammo was A$200 per round years ago .

I went another way on my 500, 500 A Square. To me this was very easy, BRNO 602, used excellent Weatherby cases which are easily fireformed. Easy to load, easy to make function, simple

I looked hard at that one too, but decided to just do a .460 Weatherby on an Enfield Model 1917 action. Still in the works....
