I recently purchased a rifle off the RIA site, somewhat by “mistake” but never the less I have acquired, I think, a very nice rifle.
It is a 1971 dated Winchester receiver and “someones” custom barrel. It is 300 Win Mag, has a bit more carving in the stock than I like but none the less it’s not “gaudy”.
Notably, for me at least, is the “unusual bedding block and floor plate assembly.” I’ve never seen one put together like this. Also note the stock (it’s wood) but is put together in two halves—look closely and you can see the lines. If anyone can ID this kind of bedding block, this kind of stock, the stock carving/pattern or anything else about this rifle I welcome your observation. This rifle was part of the Lit Ng “Collection”—-who was that?….well I know is what the web gives up and he was a Chinese National born in 1932 in Guangdong Province, China….he made his way to America, “loved to go hunting…..(because) the wild places I visit”.
Anyway, any info or “leads” on this rifle, the stock maker/carver/gunsmith or individual himself would be appreciated.
