Dear AH Members

We are putting together a different kind of safari one that takes you back to the roots of African hunting and we believe it will be the adventure of a lifetime.

EXPERIENCE SOUTH AFRICA LIKE NEVER BEFORE IN 2027

OLD SCHOOL SAFARI

This is not the Africa you see from the deck of a luxury lodge.

This is the Africa of old.

The Africa of dusty boots, campfire smoke, and long tracks disappearing into the bush. The Africa where the day starts before sunrise and ends under a blanket of stars with a mug of coffee or a glass of whisky around the fire.

Think of this as a do-it-yourself safari with experienced professionals by your side.

Forget the fancy lodge.
Forget the electricity.
Forget the soft beds and five-star service.

Your home will be a canvas tent on the edge of a dry riverbed. Your alarm clock will be the call of a jackal or the distant laugh of a hyena. Your evenings will be spent around a crackling fire, sharing stories that only Africa can write.

This is not a holiday.

This is an adventure.

You won't just be a client—you will become part of the safari.

• Gather firewood for the night's fire.
• Help prepare meals over hot coals.
• Follow fresh tracks through the African bush.
• Help recover game and experience every part of the hunt.
• Walk, hunt, laugh, and live alongside your PH and tracker as one team.

HOW THE SAFARI WORKS

• Airport pick-up and drop-off at Polokwane International Airport.
• Before heading into the bush, we stop at the local grocery store and stock up for the week.
• Then it's 7 days in wild Africa with nothing but your PH, your tracker, a canvas camp, and endless adventure.

No Electricity
No distractions.
No luxury.

Just Africa.

So, if I understand this correctly, then you end up camping out wherever you end up after a long days' hoof through the bush? If so, this sounds like a great hunt. I can just taste a freshly shot hind quarter of impala roasted over a fire whilst sipping a good scotch.

If that's the camp it's a lot more luxurious than the one we hunted out of on my first ever hunt in 1989 in the selous.... ;) ...looks very pleasant
I think AI has had a bit to do with the picture if you look at it closer.

Can we see the standard price list for trophy animals?

Good day sir you are 100% correct picture is only for illustration. This camp is a work in progress

Gotta ask…..toilet?
If you want to hunt for a couple weeks without a toilet, running water of any kind meaning no shower, not even a change of clothes…that’s mountain hunting at its finest.

Admit as much as I love suffering…a true requirement for a proper sheep hunt…the older I get, the more I’ve come to appreciate a camp with a toilet, even a hanging bag shower. Hell, who am I kidding, laundry service is nice too. That said, the idea they are promoting here is really cool.

It gives folks more of an opportunity for a true hunting experience…like if a family went and shared a hunting camp, where everyone has tasks and chores and shares in both the work and fun. I like it and seems like an incredible option to provide.

Sounds like elk camp! Similarly, I would probably be a little gamey by the end.

Ah OK...my old cheap phone isn't that clear ...the madam gets the fancy new ones :E Big Grin:.....but it looks fine....another of my pet hates are safari camps in the wild Bush that are like luxury resorts or a small hotel....can be comfortable and have facilities but to me it takes away a lot of the feeling of being out in the bush...as said the first time hunted in Tanzania we had a tent that could just take 2 single beds if needed ..but we had only one each ...a small table out front with a plastic bowl for washing/ brushing teeth...one shower which had a canvas that didn't close properly....a hot water bucket that after your first time using it you discovered only had enough water for probably 3 mins max if you were luvky...a wooden duck board to stand on that sank into the mud, so you kept your slops/flip flops on.....one long drop toilet about 20 yards past last of 4 client tents....this was when hyenas etc were in big numbers due to lots of meat from ele poaching...they were in and around camp from sunset...so for someone first experience was bit hair-raising....also year before one of the staff got hammered by a lion as the staff had meat drying in their area.....I hunted zambia the next year and was amazed that there was a sink ...shower and flush toilet built into the grass hut ....luxury :E Big Grin:

So as I said that camp even if AI looks pretty neat ....

Good day sir we will have our base camp that we will return to in the evenings. But what you mentioning is not a bad idea only problem is after 7 days of hunting and no showering we might be walking a mile apart in the bush. lol
