Great photos…thanks for sharingLast year it was a 416 Rem Mag and a 300 Win Mag, the year before it was a 458 Win Mag and a 30-06, year before that it was a 404Jeffery and 375 H&H. This year I am thinking 416 Rem and 9.3x62. 2027, 416 Rem and back to a 375 H&H, I’ve settled on the 416 Rem as my DG rifle and PG rifle could be anything from 270 Win up to 375 H&H. I am fortunate to have plenty of choices. Here is the 416 Rem and 300 Win in action last year. View attachment 754886View attachment 754887View attachment 754888View attachment 754889My
You have the correct idea. I try to take two new rifles on every Safari and most other significant hunts>Last year it was a 416 Rem Mag and a 300 Win Mag, the year before it was a 458 Win Mag and a 30-06, year before that it was a 404Jeffery and 375 H&H. There is a Ruger Hawkeye African in 6.5 Swede I’ve been trying to exercise restraint in not purchasing that I’ve been eyeing hard the last few daysThis year (In 23 days!) I'm taking a Sako AV 375 HH and a Husky 6.5x55 for my first Buff and opportunistic PG. The Husky shoots lights out and was $500. I think I'm more excited to be taking it than the 375!
That’s a beautiful rifle. I have “an ugly” (compared to that rifle) Composite Stocked/Carbon Barreled Cooper in 280 AI. It shoots phenomenally.View attachment 754921View attachment 754922
BUT…one of these days I want to take this custom Mauser G33/40 in 280 Ackley built by Bill Dowtin. I bought it with intents of using it for plainsgame, but I just don’t target plainsgame enough to need a dedicated rifle and have a hard time leaving my Rigby at home.
