I’m hopeful that the Iraqi Kurds are bringing extra arms and ammo with them and will tool up the Iranian Kurds..

In the early days of the Iraq war, the company I worked for hired a lot of Kurds… I’d guess around 100 in total… I had 24 assigned to my team.. they weren’t particularly good at fighting… but I’ll give them credit where credit is due… they were both fearless and fierce…

We got into a handful of shootouts with insurgents in early 2004.. and took indirect fire fairly regularly… our Kurds never ran.. and never faltered… we’d have incoming katushya rockets and they’d be standing in the towers manning the PKMs and watching the perimeter acting like it was just another Tuesday night…

Unfortunately I cannot say the same thing about the handful of Iraqi anti-baathists we brought in to do lower level security work..

As a rule, they sucked..
What would you chalk up the difference to? Cultural differences? Iranian (as in Kurds are an Iranian people group) vs Arab? Historical differences?

Fuel up .44¢ a gallon this afternoon.

I'm no expert on the oil industry or trading market, but how come they are raising prices on fuel that was produced prior to the Iran war?
Is this because of the panic-ans on Wall street? Is it a legitimate supply and demand issue? Or is it a way to quickly profit off of the situation?

Dont we have a pretty good supply of oil here on the home front were the USA could keep prices stable ?

I don't have a big problem paying a little extra right now if it means the world can get rid of an America/Israel hating terrorist dictatorship......but damn!

If nothing else, it means trouble for the Iranian regime.

Hopefully Turkey doesn’t do anything stupid. They get jumpy over anything the Kurds do.
The Kurds are a major threat for turkey’s mental stability about territorial integrity
I personally believe the USA betrayed them after they allied with us to defeat ISIS and Syrian loyalists, I said it before the Kurdistan Regional Assembly has a chance to make a difference in Iraq and Iran to make it their own country if we ushered them support vs turkey ( it would be nice to have Kurdistan, Israeli ,turkey, Jordan all as allies in our pocket alongside SA , k await, UAE, baharain ) nato in Europe, Arab / USA area pacts for middle east! ) then chilie , Panama, Columbia, Argentina , El Salvador, Cuba In the western hemisphere ( summit happening soon / couple days)

10:1 odds shes out of politics.. but not out of view..

she'll be hosting a show on MSNBC or will have her ghetto version of the Megyn Kelly show on the air within 2 weeks of her leaving office in January..
Maybe she can gain 200 lbs and be the Texas Stacy Abrams

Yeah, my water bill runs between $500-$600 a month (now, I have a large yard by CA standards just under an acre). Just got a notice from the water district that they are increasing fees by 9% starting March 1st which will be reflected on the April bill.

I am forced to move to a new residence this month, same zip code and water district. We'll see if the water bill will go down as the yard is smaller.
My water bill is basicly free , not withstanding the well drilled 20 years ago cost 55000. but that investment will return if I sell, pump replaced 5000. Tax bill posted , pic ,about 1500. where this state gets me is Vehicle tax, my 07 ,350 ranch truck was almost 300 last year.
trade offs ,cant ski unless I climb the mountain on foot. closest world class 3 hrs. sun valley or park city Utah, but I quit that decades ago. But I can take my 7mmM and shoot any direction ! 4 starr dining 45 min.

Thune proves once again he’s nothing more than a swamp sewer dweller, no different from Schumer or the Turtle. Schumer and the Turtle were perfectly happy taking turns leading the pack as they circled around and around the swamp, so now a seamless torch hand-off from Schumer to Thune.

My opinion only…. both Thune and Trump need to stay out of the primary THEN go full support for the winner. Let Texas voters decide first.

Care to explain what you are talking about?

This doesn’t seem very impressive for an incumbent who only beat the challenger by 2%.

Kurds are NOT an Iranian group. They have their separate language etc.. The area they call Kurdistan (parts of Iraq, Syria, Iran and Turkey) is where various tribes of Kurds lived for centuries. However, they never had their own country. Now, some would like to form their own country, but those areas they'd like to claim are part of other nations.

They were able to have their own region in Iraq. Those in Syria got slaughtered by Syrian Arabs a few months ago after US left Syria. Turkey supported the faction that took over Syria as a counter to the Kurds at their Syrian border.

Edit: My cousin knows more about the Kurds as he was kidnapped and held by the PKK for about 3 weeks when he was a Reuters journalist in early 2000s. He likes hats (of course).

They are classified as an Iranian people group and their language is in that language family. Indo-Iranian branch of languages. Actually looks like “Iranic” may be the proper term for them. As in the Kurds are an Iranic people group. On the topic of them having their own country they kinda got screwed after the fall of the Ottomans

I don't care. Paxton is a truly miserable human being.
@Red Leg That’s funny because…..

1. It’s true
2. You usually have such an eloquent way of saying exactly what you mean without having to directly say it; you caught me off guard!

True, but the cultures and national aspirations have diverged periodically since the era of the Medes and Persians. However, the period since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire has been particularly bloody. Persia crushed efforts for autonomy in the early 20th century. They were crushed again following Russian withdrawal from northern Iran following the Second World War. Following the revolution, Khomeini declared holy war against them. They tried to take advantage of the Iran Iraq war only to be crushed again. Subsequently, they have maintained a low level insurgency against the Islamic regime.

They have no interest in controlling Iran, but do have aspirations for an eventual Kurdistan of which northern Iran would be a part. Other than complicating the Iranian regimes current headaches, I am not sure what good there incursion might do from our perspective.

Additionally, Tillis throwing a 2 year old’s tantrum throwing grenades over his shoulder as he leaves DC. A fine example of another loser. What a lovely bunch end up in Washington DC!

Of topic, but he also interviewed a certain vice-President back in the day.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
