AH Get Together In Dallas During Dallas Safari Club (DSC) Convention 2022

I’ll be there! I missed 2019 because of a schedule issue assuming I’d be able to go the next year…… ha!

I'm new but I"m going to do my damnedest to be there for DSC and the get-together. I've learned so much here and would love to meet people in person. My only issue is that I'll be leaving a week afterwards for Las Vegas for SHOT and the SCI. I'm going to try to make it all work out.

How do I sign up and pay for the DSC AH get together?

Stay tuned to this thread. It'll be a little while before we have details worked out and will open the signup at that time.

I’m planning on DSC in 2022. I’m looking forward to meeting people on this forum. It’s a wealth of knowledge to me. Planning on my fourth trip to Africa in 2022. Headed to Tanzania for a leopard if all the stars are aligned.

I've been wanting to attend for the past three years, but in each instance have been thwarted by work commitments, weather, and more recently the COVID situation. I do hope that restrictions allow the convention to take place in 2022. That being the case, travel during that part of the winter is heavily dependent on the weather situation; as it impacts on my obligations here.

But if all goes well, perhaps it will work out this coming year. It would be good to meet some of you face to face.

The wife and I got reservations at the Aloft the day they opened them. This will be our first DSC and we are greatly looking forward to it. I have a question though. Will there be vendors there with stuff for sale? Clothing, binos, shooting sticks, boots? I have been wanting to get a little bit of gear for my upcoming hunt and I figured it would be best to just wait until I could try on/handle some of that stuff in person before purchasing. We are certainly looking forward to the AH dinner. Do we need to reserve tickets for that?

Tons of vendors will be there. From guns to boots to clothes to optics to fur coats for the wife.......

I see folks are already making there reservations. I sit in @CAustin land at the moment with a layover at the Kansas City airport. Sorry Charlie, but you guys need a facelift on your airport, tough airport for a long layover. But that said the lack of much to do with 5 hours to kill did give me the time to make my hotel reservation for Dallas.

Jerome @AfricaHunting.com and I have not even spoke yet about the dinner. It is a bit early to do so. So no details yet, but I would imagine Friday night at Guilly's as usual.

After last year's Covid debacle I'm so looking forward to attending this year. And hopefully for the first time my wife will be able to attend our dinner. I would imagine this first post will be replaced with the usual post that gives all the details and keeps count of who has signed up. Stay tuned......
I am excited as well. Just booked into the Courtyard Marriott by the convention center. Looking forward to Friday night to meet everyone and put a face with a name!

Good call Mark. With snivels in the Whitehouse anything is possible. I could be wrong, but as I understand it, South Africans are not currently allowed in.

I just want to go to a country where they fly their flag with pride rather than thinking its a crime due to an imperial past (like we do in the UK).

Are double jabbed Brits allowed in?

As I understand it also, South Africans are not currently allowed in. I have 2022 trip planned and want to start planning 2023 (60th birthday hunt) of the PHs I want to talk to are not able to come no reason for me to go.

If this crap screws up another DSC I am going to be royally pissed. Oops sorry @Royal27

Looks like that’s a negatory unless you stay in another country for 2 weeks prior (or the British Virgin Islands).
Could change by DSC timing.
I've heard South African's can stay in Mexico for 2 weeks then get into the US. Not sure if a Mexico vacation fits into any of the Outfitters plans.....

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
