My wife’s decided she wants to to take me back to Africa for a hunt for our 20th anniversary. We’ve been looking at different outfits for the trip. We’ve got 2 packages we’re looking at. The first package is Sable, Nyala, Gemsbok, Burchel zebra, Waterbuck and springbok.

My friend is looking for package of Sable, Kudu, gemsbok, Nyala and warthog. We’re looking for people that have hunted with Pawprint, KMG or HuntersHill. Looking for recommendations.

I've been to KMG twice, and plan to return again someday. Can't recommend them highly enough! Marius will take great care of you!

I have hunted with Pawprint twice. Pieter Erasmus, the owner died last January after a long illness. At this time, I don't know who is in charge there. PM me any specific questions and I will answer them if I can.

I've hunted with Marius at KMG four times and booked hunt with them again in May 2021 with my son for Cape Buffalo. You won't be dissapointed. Marius runs a top notch outfit and does the hard yards to give you the ultimate hunting experience.

For the East Cape, KMG is a great operation. Marius has an excellent reputation. For an anniversary safari I would also recommend you take a serious look at Limcroma Safaris with Hannes Els. They are a first-class outfit in the Limpopo that specialize in couples and families. I believe Hannes still has a really cool Couples Package on offer in the deals section that may interest you.

I too can highly recommend you look no further than KMG. I have had two great safaris with Marius and the team, and am booked again for Cape Buff in August...this one or next. You will hunt hard for your animals with KMG, and the PH's deliver fantastic mature trophies from self sustaining herds.

One one safari I took my wife & daughters and had a trip of a lifetime with touring afterwards. Book with confidence.

Cheers
Tim

KMG enjoys an exceptional reputation here on AH and with good reason. Can't go wrong with him. If you do a search there have been a number of threads of hunt reports with him.
HuntersHill has also had a lot of reports posted on here. One report was less than stellar. After reading the replies it appears to me that the client likely would not of been happy regardless of who he hunted with. They are a larger company and have more hunters than most through the course of a year. I suspect that you would have a great time with either company.

Marius at KMG offers great hunting with many happy customers.
Hunters Hill has been operating a long time too. I have seen many nice trophies.
Pawprint, Pieter unfortunately passed away

I would recommend also:
Game 4 Africa Safari, great prices, family friendly operation in the East Cape.
Kemp African Safari in the Limpopo, great food, service, excellent animals!
Lalamanzi Safari in the Limpopo Province, great good, accommodations, prices, service.

Truth be told, there are many great outfitters in the Eastern Cape, including both Huntershill and KMG, and truth be further told, clients who are happy with their outfitter tend to return to them, which makes a lot of sense and explains why Huntershill clients will recommend Huntershill and KMG clients will recommend KMG. That is as it should be :)

Once clients have hunted satisfactorily with one outfitter, not only the unknown has been taken out of the equation in the first hunt, but a relationship, and often true friendship, has been developed, so most clients go back where they went, unless the species they want cannot be hunted there. For example, we at Huntershill have 98% of our clients come back to us, and I am sure that KMG, as well as many others, have similar return rates :)

Differentiating factors may include availability for the dates you want, availability of game species, size of the land, ownership of the land and game, etc.

The one recommendation I would make is that if you are looking for a 2021 hunt, you start discussing with potential outfitters soon. We at Huntershill, for example, are seeing a surge in 2021 bookings from people who could not hunt in 2020 due to Corona virus and current or expected (?) international travel restrictions.

We’ve sent out quote requests to sever outfitters. I’ve already received yours and you are on our short list as of now. I have a few more questions for you and will be contacting you soon. Thanks for the reply.

Mark, another vote for Marius at KMG

KMG is your guy in the Eastern Cape, hunted with them twice, all my trophies were outstanding. Marius and crew will treat you good, the Bush buck in my avatar was taken with Marius

I hunted with Marius and KMG in 2018 would highly recommend them. I have a hunt booked in 2022 with Game4Africa and all correspondence with them thus far has been great.

Enjoy your planning sir and you cannot go wrong with Marius.

Enjoy the planning!

All my best,

Jacques

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
