I will find out if it is push feed. I do not know how to tell if it is salt wood, but I had heard the horror stories about it rusting so that’s why I had him pull the action out to take pics to show no rust.

If I wasn’t saving for two safaris and overloaded with rifles, I would prob buy if from him myself.

That's an old Sako action I think. Push feed. Go to Browning.com. one of the drop downs has a date my rifle.

I think it was made in 71. By the looks of the bottom of the recleiver I don't think it is salt wood.

"Short extractor vs long extractor". Is a short extractor push feed and the long extractor CRF?

This one is definitely push feed, with sako style extractor. These rifles are very nice, and I wouldn't let the push feed factor worry me in the least!
