Like everyone else, once safari #1 was over I was dreaming of safari #2. I hunted plains game in SA in 2014 and have been aching to go back and dreaming of buffalo. I have a friend who has hunted Zimbabwe and with HHK before. He was very happy with his hunt and PH. I think he has been with this PH twice. Even though I have very favorable information from my friend I was hoping to get more opinions from the forum on Zimbabwe in general and particularly on HHK Safaris if anyone is familiar. This is looking likely enough that I bought a Winchester model 70 in 375 H&H recently and got my first experience shooting a big bore today - I loved it.

Hello mate, I hunted Elephant with HHK in 2015 in Units 1 and 3 of the Matetsi, you will find the report on here I think.Great hunt and we saw lots of game including Cheetah, great areas for Ele, buffalo and some massive sable too.The buff are pushed about by the Lion but if they are there you will get one...Easy access as well from Vic falls, any questions let me know and good luck

As far as Zim in general it is a great place to hunt. They are some excellent operators and areas. I have hunted there 5 times with 2 operators in 4 different areas and have enjoyed each hunt.

What area(s) is HHK offering? PH?

I thought they went bust??? I'm almost positive they went through a huge foreclosure sale last summer/fall to pay off the bank??

I heard the name was being used again, but no idea if any of the original parties are still involved, or not.

One of the original owners freelances for them, Lou Hallamore.

From what I understand they have Omay North and South and Dande South(CAMPFIRE).

Had someone that asked me to go on a hunt with them, and I just didn't get a good vibe, so I went elsewhere.

Thanks for the replies so far, but certainly not what I was hoping to hear. My friend that hunted with them before was with Johan Bezuidenhout as his PH, that's also been his primary contact in working on details for this safari. I have been in contact with Graham Hingeston on some general questions. I'd appreciate any other feedback you have to offer and looks like I have a lot more to learn.

Perhaps you could PM a few of the Zim outfitters on this site and ask for any insight from them?

Unless something has changed recently, Lou has nothing to do with HHK. According to HHK's website they have some Matetsi blocks, Deka, and Dande South. As far as I know, Martin Pieters still has the Omay concessions.

HHK is still the same group as it was a couple of years ago. Just my 0.02, but I think there are better options out there.

I got no dog in this fight just passing on information, and can forward a link to another forum that will collaborate it for anyone interested;

From Buzz Charlton; "HHK now has as far as I understand it Omay North and South and Dande South."

No offense meant and no dog in the fight either. I've more than likely seen the same threads you have on the other forum.

Bottom line; seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there regarding HHK.

I heard something at DSC that led me to understand that M.P. is no longer involved with the Omay.

Love the Omay, such a beautiful place. I have seen a few outfitters advertise the Omay in the last twelve months or so, don't know exactly what is going on there.

As far as I know HHK are now in control of the omay north and south. I have booked hunts there through Graham.

Thanks for the information Lin.

How does African Conservancies and Chris Moore fit into the Omay discussion?

Are they involved in some way?

Chris Moore was running the anti poaching in the omay. He worked for African conservancies.
