What is the draw of a Ruger#1?

I don't think there is anything quite so elegant as a well turned out No. 1 like those above. Outstanding.

Possibly a single shot that cost 10-30 times more! Even then, not sure of a guarantee!

Here is a cool #1 I forgot about, found it while looking in a safe that never gets opened while I was searching for a different rifle.
Cheers,
Cody

What a beauty....

I would like to search your safe......

And a third in .270 which I bought in 1975 from the Wertheim (Germany) Rod & Gun. A year later, I sent it to Ferlach, Austria through a gunmaker friend who had the engraving done. That rifle has taken around forty Roe, four red stag, several boar, and probably a dozen whitetail.

What a colletion.....

.....(y)

Most of the beautys spend there time, suffering in gunsafes..... but yours really performed.

I am pretty sure that you are the one with a lovely collection, but Waidmanns Dank.

This is my one & only Ruger #1...but it makes it more valuable, when you find people who share the same interests...

I always wanted to have an "International" in 7x57, but there is no chance to find one.

Those few who have one, do not sell it....

Red Leg, those are some beautiful guns. Were all of them "done" by Heym, or just the 7x 65R?

Just the 7mm.

I really like the No. 1. When I was telling my Father how much I liked mine he let me finish talking then asked me "Why the hell do you want a 100 year old design?".

Because it works! A fine gun, like a fine woman tends to get better with age and we as men will never stop looking at either. I did finally decide I can afford a shiny new rifle, not a shiney 20 year old blonde.

To summarize Pondoro Taylor, he looked forward to the day when they fixed the dreadful single shot Gibbs farquarson extractor so they could ban those unfair and uncivilized bolt rifles for African sport.

Fast forward another 35 years and Bill Ruger did fix the extractor flaw.

Your move hunting community.

Don't get me wrong I couldn't agree more on the rifle part; as far as an old warhorse, not so much.

HWL, my #1 slapped me for looking at your beautiful rifle! Lol. Very nice looking rifle, what is she chambered in?
Cheers,
Cody
It's a .308 Winchester.

I bought it for cheap, because it did not shoot very well.

A gunsmith fixed it.

I asked the gunsmith, what he did, and he said: "I will never tell!"

I am happy with it.

Translation: relieved the wood inside the fore end and torqued the screw properly!

Cabelas has the Ruger #1 on sale right now in a variety of calibers from 22-250 up to 416..... $999. Don't know if that is a real bargain or not. Just noticed it.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
