Best Country for hunting Cape Buffalo?

Free range Buffalo hunts can be had in North Eastern South Africa.
The APNR has a very healthy Buffalo population. 1000's of Buffaloes and small quotas make for some fantastic Buffalo hunting.

yip, nothing wrong with that. RSA buffalo can be just as interesting to hunt, perhaps more...I have hunted Zimbabwe for 10 years 'back in the day' and that was not always the best hunts...

Really? It's because of rules like this that hunting gets a bad name. I prefer my Steer burger to be as close to the source as possible, and I think every anti would as well. Fresher is better. For once, the antis and I are on the same page. Long live fresh! (Or so I tell my wife).

Well I was close to a Steers last trip top, so you should be happy. :p

:E Thinking: :E Head Scratch:.....ok what we done to piss you off? ;)

@CDorroh good buff hunting in Zambia let me know if you want more info

Sometimes the brain is slower than the fingers. I corrected my anger management problem.

There are certainly good Buffalo to be hunted in Zambia.

Good to see some banter over what began as a 'rookie' question!

Have to agree with Jan, there are some great un-fenced areas within South Africa. Plus, you have added benefit of stability.

The APNR probably has some of the most well managed huntable Buffalo populations in Africa today. Free roaming Buffalo in an open big 5 system with an off take so relatively small that it doesn't impact on numbers or quality of animals at all. I have been fortunate and hunted some fine Buffalo areas in my 24 years as a PH , many of them in the different countries north of us and beyond. The Buffalo hunts in the APNR are in a class of their own. The absence of overhunting is striking.
In the end its about personal preference. What do YOU want to get out of it.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
