Many months ago I was chatting with friends about revolutions and unrest, mainly that they sneak up on society without much foreknowledge.

I believe its the left that could cause such unrest, verging on civil war. Specifically, I thought that the tipping point could be if the UHC CEO's assassin gets away with murder because of jury gridlock. Odds of 1:12 jurors in New York doing jury nullification? Measurable.

That risk grew today, a NY judge tossed his terrorism charges leaving society with only one charge to get him with, murder.

If you think my concern is far-fetched, I'd remind you of the E. Jean Carroll NY jurors that ruled in her favor against Trump with literally zero evidence.

So how would this lead to civil unrest or worse if they fail to convict Luigi Mangione? It would declare to Antifa "open season" to hunt anyone on the right, anyone that is a capitalist, anyone that is a corporatist.

Dangerous times. Pray that they panel a jury that believes in the rule of law.

Do you think the terrorism charge could have stuck? Personally I thought it was over reach.

And IIRC there was evidence in the Carroll trial. She testified. The jury believed her. That is how many, many trials work.

And one other thing I should have mentioned.

This ruling does not leave society with only one charge against him. In addition to what I think are more than 10 outstanding state charges against him in N.Y and Pennsylvania, there are four federal charges against him in a different court, one of which is a capital murder charge for which the prosecutor has publically said they will be seeking the death penalty.

Absolutely. And never have a college savings plan for a kid. The colleges know their assets based on the FAFSA and literally punish them with less grants/aid because they were savers. A ROTH IRA can be used without penalty for education, BUT it is not a disclosable asset on the FAFSA so it isn't used to calculate the student's means.

The US is sometimes so difficult to navigate!

Diversity is like metallurgy. As far as I remember, iron becomes steel when carbon is added. But it should be no more than 2%, if more, then cast iron is obtained instead of steel. And if the percentage of carbon becomes more than 6-7 percent, then you just get slag, waste, and unusable material.

Khans own numbers say 2194 Americans applied for UK citizenship between April and June...

So thats .000006451% of the population... Assume you get the same number every quarter for a year... thats going to give you .0000258% of the population... So, roughly 1 American in every 400k asked to become UK citizens... thats about 2 in about each of the major metro population centers in the country...

And he doesnt address how many of those people are actually applying for dual citizenship and have no intention of leaving the US..

The UK reports that 98,000 citizen emigrated FROM the UK to other countries in just the last year..Thats about .0014% of the population.. thats what, about 40x as many Brits leaving the UK as Americans coming to the UK on a per capita basis...

Khan also doesnt bother to mention that the number of US citizens RENOUNCING their citizenship is actually down this year.. it reached a peak when BIDEN took office in 2020 with a total number of 6700 Americans giving up their US Citizenship that year..

Oh damn brother! My condolences. I’ve had to put down a few. It sucks. Onetime I was awakened by a Sheriff’s Deputy knocking on my door at 2:30am. My mind went immediately to one of my kids being killed! Instead, he informed me that one of my mules, Dozer, had been hit on the Hwy by a semi. He said Dozer was missing a rear hoof. The wife and I got dressed and hooked up a trailer and drove to the flashing lights on the Hwy. We were met by the Brand Inspector and Deputy who both asked why I brought a trailer? I said to load the mule. The BI said I must be crazy. I said, “Watch this.” I walked up to Dozer and he ducked his head into the halter I brought. I slowly walked him to the trailer and he jumped right in. A damn good mule! I had to put him down later that morning. The semi’s front tire tore off his rear hoof but he was otherwise unscathed. One millisecond quicker and the truck would have missed him completely. He was a great riding mule and pack mule. Dozer, me and Jenny below with a big moose.View attachment 713777
