I posted a link to an article a few pages back that stated the many examples of how due process was being denied on a wholesale level to the J-6 detainees... There are dozens of articles and books all over the internet documenting these egregious violations if you actually care to research in detail...
The quick summary is that going through a jury trial alone is not the entire scheme of due process... The entirety of the 1,583 defendants arrested in relation to J-6 had been held without bail. This included the vast majority who were eventually charged with simple misdemeanors which is unheard of...
They were also denied their right to confer with legal counsel, timely arraignments, hearings, and a speedy trial after the arraignments eventually took place... They were also denied the right to review evidence against them and as we now have learned the evidence which was suppressed and withheld by the J-6 committee... As of January 5, 2025, 500 cases were still pending and undecided, and of those 500, 170 detainees were still awaiting trial 4 years later...
Additionally, detainees were kept in 23-hour solitary confinement in filthy cells with poor food and no opportunity to bathe. They were also denied their rights to family visitations.
