I am going to SA this year and hopefully next year one of the other southern African countries, just figured if I was going to buy the SA plug adaptor, might as well buy another at the same time while on amazon

A small inverter type plug that goes in a vehicle cigarette lighter comes in handy for charging anything small with a 110V US plug or a UBS.

the electric plugs are not the same... using a MULTI ADAPTOR will get your stuff charged, BUT it must have a 3 x point ROUND fitting for RSA and then a 3 x point FLAT for Zambia and Zimbabwe.

I bought this one as my "zim" adaptor because of the USB ports, so I can plug in direct, or charge something with a plug as well.

I then plug it into the "SA" adaptor when the round three prong is needed and have the best of both without much extra bulk to travel with.

That's very similar to the multi adaptor that I travel with and use.
