Uncharted by Jim Shockey

Watched it last night, and I agree with all above. Quality show. Branlin has a real gift for turning the locals into real people rather than just stage props. Interesting corner of the world. Some of the fiercest fighting of WWII took place between the Australians and Japanese in exactly the same areas they were hunting - stopping the Japanese offensive toward Port Moseby and then pushing them back up and over the Owen Stanley Mtns to the area they will be hunting water buffalo next week. The conditions those troops fought in were horrific, and looking at the terrain those deer call home, one can see why.

I am conflicted over redneck hunting TV. I can't watch it. That said, it helps maintain interest in our sport among a large swath of our population. We probably need all the friends we can get.

Red Leg,

Excellent points and well said.
I totally agree with you.
Also, I wish the laughing high fivers and shriekers could see that they are re-affirming what the anti-hunting/depression suffering emotional wrecks think of us.

Regards,
Velo Dog.

I missed setting this up on my DVR to record it the first night it was shown, but thankfully it was reran yesterday and I got it recorded. First impression is that they're trying to take the show to yet another level. It is clear to me the personality that we see on TV and I've also seen in person having met Jim Shockey at the conventions comes through to the people he meets in the various places he goes to. From what I can see, he is a good ambassador for all hunters.

Even though I haven't been on here in too long a while, I wholeheartedly agree with all the above comments. All that hollering and BS doesn't belong in any type of hunting. We know it hurts how we are portrayed as hunters, so I like the comment that we are a "gentlemens' forum". Hunters of the past had class. That's why I like guys like Mr. Shockey and Chuck Adams. We need to keep it that way. No bubbas in African hunting.
Just my 2 cents.

Haven't seen it but will be looking for it

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
