The 243 is among the best rifles

Being the troublemaker I am, I'll just pull the pin and walk away.
@skydiver386
I wouldn't lower my standard or dignity and watch such rubbish. Nice try son but no bite this time.
It will just be a peddler of lies and rubbish.

I perfer the 244/6mm Remington, for its longer neck and less taper.....less trimming!
I helped bring the 22 CM to the for front and yet absolutely detest the 6.5 but just started playing with the 6mm CM and it may have some usefulness. In truth the 243 necked to .224 and a 40 degree shoulder (aka 224 Durham Jet) is an all time favourite as is the 6MM Ackley Improved. The 22 CM
is great in 8" twist with 75gr Berger's or in 11-12" twist with light twist as both will smoke a 22-250.

Now go on and stir the hornet's nest. While you contemplate some academic ballistics!

Gun manufacturers and canned gun advocates who chop off their barrel have ruined the 243 imo ( it is a over bore cal and needs a 24-26 inch barrel) pretty sad days in the gun world seeing short barrel production

a .243 imo doesn’t hold a candle to a 240 Roy , 257 Roy or a proper twist 25-06
Same as the 6.5cm vs the 264wm , 6.5prc , ect
Just food for thought.

I like the 6mm Remington to

I see the 243 as a good varmint predator cartridge. I do not see it as a deer or antelope rifle. I have a 243 on an ar10 platform and 2 @ 6mm Remington rifles . The 6mm remington is superior to the 243 in all ways except for ammo availability. I do not understand how the 243 pushed the 257 roberts into history. For cxp2 game there are so many better choices than a 243 winchester.

I’ve taken quite a few whitetail deer in my time, and I’ve taken the majority of them with a .243. I just recently bought a Howa superlite .243 with a 16.25” barrel, 4lbs 7oz, a very lightweight rifle for walking the woods.

I hope to fill out the last 7 of my crop damage permits tomorrow, and my .243 is in the truck ready to go.

I love my 243, there is an oldtimer here in BC who shot everything from Grizzly to goat with a partition out of a 243. Just don't overthink it

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
