Good in theory, bad in practice with current tech. For example, if you cut a 458 Lott barrel down far enough to put a silencer co hybrid 46 on there, say 18, add another 7” for the suppressor. It wouldn’t be totally unwieldy but the velocity loss would be a big factor. This is exactly why caliber are being developed for suppression. Suppressors are great on lighter more plains game type rifles, but I think there is a long way to go before they make much sense on a big bore dangerous game rifle. I have a threaded for break Ed brown 458 Lott. It has a 24” barrel, I have screwed my older 45 hybrid on it….there is no way I would use that config in africa…..might be fun in the back yard with reduced loads ,…but it’s like handling a railroad tie.
