Stop in for Supper, friend

Has anyone had sheep tail on the braii? I had it earlier this year on my trip to the Northern Cape. Initially thought they were riblets until realizing they had lots of vertebrae. Very fatty and delicious as grilled!
One of my favourite starters or snacks at a braai.
But if you want to do it, put it it a pressure cooker first for 10-15 min with spices and salt, and then on the grill over hot coals.
 
Venison stew needs to be thick enough for the spoon to stand up in it local Fallow was the one to provide the venison.

Texel. I don’t have pictures of livestock, seems like when I was around them daily just never really bothered. My wife is the picture taker. She has thousands of lamb and calf pics!:)

I know that breed, you see them here in Europe. We got out of the sheep industry about 25 years ago as my father didn't want to farm in his retirement. I have been out of the house for 34 years.

We were always Suffolk, Rambouillet, and Tarhgee people. Doing the FFA Club lamb circuit. Wool and lamb used to have some level of value, and we sold registered replacement ewes and rams. We had a couple of dog kills that we had to restart on. Once night over 140 sheep killed by 3 dogs. This was before anyone was using livestock guardian dogs in Wyoming. I was about 12 years old. The other time was broad daylight when I was 17, but we only lost a few head before got them shot.

Like in Italy, food is a big part of my and my families culture.

We just sold a family meat market that was started by my grandfather over 100 years ago.

Tripe is one of my favorite dishes too!

My wife and I hope to get back to Italy this winter for some time to escape the cold of the Northeastern United States.

Next time I'm going to be there I'll give you heads up.

By the way, when I was in Rome a handful of years ago, I had a great dish of tripe and another great oxtail dish too.
 
I like Lamb , Hogget and Mutton. Maybe it’s an Aussie thing.

Speaking of dinner I will put a different twist on on this.
I met up with some guys from a hunting club and the dish in the image was in the fridge. It didn’t look that appealing but when reheated it came up great.

It’s a Persian dish cooked by a Persian bloke in camp using goat shoulder and Persimmons.

I’m glad I tried it

Dinner is usually my lightest meal of the day. One thing that I like to cook (especially in the summer) is chicken piccata. I'll usually get some chicken breasts from the store and butterfly them. The tops get made into a piccata and the bottoms get cubed up for chicken tacos. Here's dinner for one with a bit of angel hair pasta & a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
