Mind if I tag along? I’m about to develop some loads for my double using 285gr Norma Oryx and 286gr Nosler Partition.

After using a RCBS beam scale for eons, I switched to a Lyman. It worked well but lasted only about three years and then it crapped out on me. I switched to the Hornady and I’ve been using it for about five years and as Bullthrower338 states, it has great features and works like a charm.

I know technology is scary, I fought it for years but..... once you embrace it ( a little, let’s not get too carried away) it makes life much easier

I only load pistol and SLR ammo on it. But it is fast. As long as you are throwing pistol or ball powder it is quite accurate.

I'm another happy charge master owner. I will say that there is a little bit of a learning curve when you first start using it but once you start to trust it and know how it works it is a dream.

For priming I am still using a Lee hand priming tool that I bought over 25 years ago. I would hate to think of how many primers have been seated with this tool but I know that it is well into the 5 figures. This last January I was thinking that I should retire it but I asked myself "why" It still works like the day I purchased it.

Attached is a copy of the scan I took from the aforementioned book. Pierre van der Walt did an excellent job of documenting the history of as well as providing loading data obtained from various powder manufacturers for many of the calibers and rifle used on African Game.

Please note that the file will take several minutes to open as it is quite large.

The new Lee hand primers are about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop. I bent the handle seating a primer on a 223 case. I’ve fought the stinking thing every time I’ve tried to use it. From the reviews on it a lot of people say that the original tool was excellent but new one sux.

I wore my old Lee out, bought a new one and it did suck. Bought a Hornady and RCBS and didn’t like them either. @PHOENIX PHIL had mentioned the Lyman and I tried it, works great and is so simple even I can’t break it or lose parts.

I was pretty pissed. I’ve always liked Lee stuff but that and the case trimmer doohickeys that go in the top of the press don’t work for shit.

If it is any consolation, I had one quite a few years ago and I broke that one (it replaced the bench mounted RCBS that also broke).

The little thumb lever just gave up the ghost and cracked in half one day.

Replaced it with the Hornady hand tool...then some years later found the Bald Eagle (just a few years ago) and now believe I have found the tool I want to live with the rest of my life.

Anything is better than pounding primers in on the old Lee Loader spring loaded doohickey!

Any of y'all ever go out to the reloading bench and wonder what was in an unlabeled coffee can, open it, and see that it's 3/4 way full of coffee?

    Asking for a friend.....

Kathy says it was just Nancy messing with you.

wives just love going into their husbands loading rooms and rearranging things to see if we will notice.
