Different brands of brass anneal at different times. I use 1 or 2 cases to find out my times.
I put 700 degree templaq on the neck and shoulder of the case and go up in 0.1 sec increments until it melts. A bit of a pain in the arse but when I know the time I just record it and can set the time needed very quickly. To simplify things I always us the same brand of brass.
If I use a different brand I just use the templaq again to work it out.
I use different size coils for each caliber that take 10 seconds to install. Once it is set up( that only takes a couple of minutes to install the coil and set the timer) I can do 50 cases in abot 5 minutes.

Man I bet you’re getting pumped up, that’s just right around the corner!!!! I definitely can relate to your reloading room. I finally, after years of waiting, got a reloading room all to myself with plenty of space. I’ve got some really old taxidermy in mine, I keep trying to remember to print off some pics from my adventures but just never seem to have time to mess with the interior decoration in there. Still I love it when I have the rare opportunity to spend a few hours cranking out ammo.

I'm just about to get started for my August trip. The 9.3x62 should be back from the smith within the next week or so, and I have new glass. Also bought an XS ghost ring for it, so I've got 2 "optics" I need to get dialed in.

I need to get cracking on my son's 9.3x62, but I had to send his Leupold back to the factory for some warranty work.

I've got 4 boxes of 286 gr SAF ready to rock.

A problem with being 76 is that stuff that is 100 years old, made in 1924 doesn't seem that old- my mother was born in 1924 and she has passed away but seems like she died young at 88.

It’s funny you mention that. I was just talking with a friend of mine the other day about this same thing but with relation to WWII. My grandfather was a WWII veteran and my hero growing up. He was born in 1921 and all through my childhood up through my teenage years he would show me his wartime photo album and tell stories about the war. Of course at that time the war had ended only about 40 years prior.

Thing is it didn’t seem that long ago then and still really doesn’t. WWI was the war that felt forever ago at the time and the only living WWI veteran in my family was very very old and in a nursing home. He unfortunately had dementia and the family said he was a mean SOB before hand and 3x that since he’d been hospitalized so I never got to meet him that I can recall.

Anyway, when I talk to my kids about the war and their great grandfather they politely listen but I can tell there is too much separation. It still just doesn’t sink in with me that the 80th anniversary of D-Day is this year. Just doesn’t seem like it should have been that long ago. Of course I’m not much younger now than my grandfather was when my parents had me and my grandson is 19 months old. I guess that just means I’m getting old. Idk.

Gizmo, I know what you mean. My maternal grandfather was in the Army during WWl, but didn’t go overseas. My dad’s brother served in WWll, Korea and VN.
I have some firearms I’ve owned for almost 50yrs. I’ve be reloading for 46yrs. Damn, I’m an old fart!

Dad had an uncle or 3 on his mom's side that went to WWII, but my grandfathers were too young for WWI or too old for WWII, born in 1900 and 1902.

Dad's uncle(s) and a couple other folks from the home place went off to WWII, and they were all wrecked men when they came home. One or two of them ended up self-deleting, as I recall the stories.

To further derail the thread, I had the pleasure of visiting with a WW2 vet who jumped with 82nd on D-Day. It was very interesting for me to have the experience. I was probably 12 or 13 at the time.

Age was no barrier to my grandfather. He put his age up to get into WW1 and had his 18th birthday on Gallipoli. Then put his age down to get into WW2 and served with the 7/25th at Tobruk.

My dad joined the navy in July of 42 and spent the next 3 years sailing around the Pacific on a destroyer and the last 6 weeks of the war in a hospital in Pearl Harbor. He lost part of his right shin bone to a kamikaze strike.

I finally hit the reloading room Wednesday for the first time since October. My wife had a stroke and I’m now seven weeks out from having a knee replaced. Fortunately, we’re both doing well. The range opens March 1st so I need to get busy. I cranked out 100 .223 and prepped some 9.3x74R brass. Heading back to load up the 9.3 tonight.

I’m sorry to hear about yalls health issues. Prayers for a speedy recovery. While you are loading 9.3x74 I need some loaded also, I like Barnes 286gr TSX’s.
