Help me identify these three different RWS 8x68s cartridges. I have multiples of each, but they all came in the same 14.5 gram KS boxes. I believe the cartridge on the left is actually a 14.5 gram / 224gr ks.

My bet is - from left to right:
KS 224, very old KS 184 or 224, H Mantel (184?) from the '70s or so.
Everyone of these are, as far as I know, not loaded anymore by RWS, currently.
The one in the middle is the most mysterious, as I've never seen a KS "hollow", but I know of no other one with that shape, so to me is a KS...
The first from left is the younger of the bunch.

left is Kegelspitz/KS, far right HMK/H-Mantel about 20+ years old.
in the middle could be a Brenneke Torpedo Hohlspitz
There also is the DK which looks a bit like the KS but with a cannelure.
generational sequence of H-Mantel see pic

You are right, the one in the center is the old 224 gr KS.

Thanks guys, appreciate the identification.

We have just returned from SA, the cartridge in middle is definitely 224g Ks we used a batch from 2004! The cartridge on the right 187g HMantle, the one on the left could be a 180g Ks or the 187g Dk, perhaps pull with the kinetic hammer and compare to the photos below and weigh the bullet.
Hopefully the information helps out?

The 8x68s is great Africa cartridge, you need to go there and try it out.
Regards

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
