Meanwhile, back in the USSR - I mean Russia - the Ukrainians continue to find new ways to both humiliate the little dictator in the Kremlin and bring the war to the elites. Today, as attendees, including many international ones from third world economic powerhouses like North Korea and South Africa, began to arrive at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, they were greeted with very visible strikes on the city's oil refinery complex.

Amazing the change in the definition of front lines in our lifetimes.

I think generally the world hates Putins guts. It just seems most politicians don't have the courage to deal with him appropriately.
Don’t forget, that people expect Russia to not fight a fair fight. Naturally western democratic countries are held to a higher standard by their people and media. That whole freedom of speech and thought thing.

A lot of stores don't even take cash anymore.
when i go to my local store (fred meyer) i go to the checkout with a human, AND pay cash most the time. if they want my business, they are going to have to make change in cash.

keeps grocery checkers working AND makes the store make change for the few that don't want every transaction on a CC or cashless.

With just about every retailer charging a 3% transaction fee it can add up and makes me mad to have to use a CC for a small purchase. I like to show cashiers the phrase on the bills “ good for all debts public and private” then I walk out without buying anything pretty often.

Most places do not charge the customers extra for using a CC card. As a matter of fact it is against their TOS with the CC companies for them to do that. Yes, a lot of small businesses do that regardless.

"That whole freedom of speech and thought thing" seems to be going away due to excessive political correctness nowadays though.
I’m just saying if Putin bombs a school in Russia, the news won’t condemn him, nor will the people take to the streets

Admittedly I don’t get out to often! Maybe that’s why I remember when someone does charge extra. The little butcher shop and convenience store I frequent prefer cash so that’s what I use.

There is no cost incurred by a business that is not ultimately paid by the consumer. That’s a universal law of economics.

You might get mocked, de-platformed, attacked in words, etc for not being politically correct , but at least you do not get attacked and convicted in court for it:

Not so. Several costs incurred in the production/sales of goods are paid by government subsidies that are funded by people who have nothing to do with the consumption.

Then that would not be a cost incurred. That would be a cost avoided and unjustly thrust upon others via government redistribution.

This is why the world is so presently divided today. Saying something so self-evident and basic as the famous quote by Milton Friedman that “there is no cost a business incurs that isn’t ultimately passed on to the customer” is now a sticking point in America?

Businesses pass all their costs, plus marginal profit onto the customer. Absent some sort of monopoly or unreasonable barrier to entry, if profits are less than 6% competition leaves the arena. If profits exceed 8-10%, new competition enters the arena.

A 3% credit card charge is either line-item added to the bill, or everyone pays an inflated price to offset the invisible cost to the business of offering credit card processing. It’s not magic, it’s just business.

A perfect example from this week was when I needed to pay a tradesman $28,500. I asked how much that would be in cash? The price became $27,000. I did better for myself, he did better for himself by having shadow revenue he can apportion however he wishes. Clearly he was avoiding costs to be incurred, otherwise the discount would be charity rather than a strategic and mutually beneficial discount.

Semantic gymnastics. Ultimately the consumer pays, directly or indirectly. Violate that economic law and sooner or later the system fails. Fascism fails because it violates that law. Communism fails because it violates that law.

Sikh stabs Brit when he asks "are you a bad man". The Sikh replies he is a bad man, takes out a very large knife, stabs him in the chest cutting a major vein near his shoulder blade. He then proceeds to stab him twice in the leg, once in the groin, and then the face.

The perp then calls his brother and they mutually mock the dying man and fail to render aid. The perp then calls his mommy who comes by, retrieves the knife, and hides it.

The perp's brother then calls the police stating they were racially harassed. No remorse, just accusations that the unarmed Brit racially harassed them.

In the UK you cannot even own a pointed tip chef's knife in your own home. However, if your religion requires a knife, you can wear a knife or sword in public without a permit.

That's the story, the end. When you import the third world, you become the third world.

The full video is hard to watch. Hopefully the brothers go to prison or are dealt with properly. And the two cops are fired and jailed.

Well in zambia if you get your income in forex you are a bit fkd ...I have mentioned in odd post about the exchange rate...with the copper price and other commodities skyrocketing in value this government has lucked out by being in power at the right time....otherwise nothing would have changed.....over the last 12 months or so the kwacha has gained nearly 40% against usd and gbp....but bugger all has gone down in price.....elections are in Aug and government is on big spending spree .....to put it into hunting perspective a hunt I would have offered a year ago at usd 10,000 I would now need to make it usd 16000 to get same kwacha...which obviously is impossible.....my money is in gbp.....so I am taking equivalent of a nearly 40% cut in my monthly income, which isn't a big amount at all to start with....same for money each month sent from where I come from as running costs to cover when no hunt money in....so as you can imagine not great.....you have every man and his dog looking for copper deposits and other commodities...gold is another one they looking for big time...but plenty other minerals etc also.....as said bezos and gates consortium just started on construction of a new big copper mine in North West province.....they are using their AI to search for copper etc etc etc.....they made it illegal to use anything other than kwacha for internal transactions of any kind...apart from international tourism and strangely enough paying certain government fees in usd ;) ....but those tourism businesses then have to pay all bills in zambia in kwacha....hunting outfitters with gmas can pay their big amounts to the government in usd so this has cushioned them a lot.....this from bank of zambia

Whites are better bridge builders, but hey, African Americans are better long distance runners. Must have been an enlightening two hour speech.

Never fear, because many feel Europeans are smarter than Americans and Canadians.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
